When Trouble was a kitten we kept the lid down on the bowl to keep the
cats out of the "giant water bowl". So Trouble had never seen the
inside of the bowl and evidently she was curious about what could be
in there that was so important as to get to have a lid on it all the
time. One morning, while Bill was in there doing his morning routine,
Trouble ran in at top kitten speed, reached up with both front feet,
pulled herself up on the rim, and hung her head into the bowl. And
she promptly got the top of her head "marked" by a surprised and still
half asleep Bill who never expected a kitten to be between himself and
the bowl. Trouble left the room at top speed and hid under a
livingroom chair and washed herself, and glared at anyone coming near
her, and washed herself some more, until she wore herself out with all
the washing and fell asleep.

Oh my! Poor Trouble! It's similar to the reason I got a Drinkwell fountain
for Persia. I leave the water running a little when I'm brushing my teeth
and she was always sticking her head under to get a drink. I didn't want to
spit toothpaste on her head so she has her own "faucet".
