I've finished the last chapter in the Princess story. This third video,
"Throw Your Arms Around Me" (which is an Australian classic, btw -
appropriate for an Australian cat) is kind of a resolution to all the grief
I've gone through in the past few months. I hope you all enjoy it, those of
you who have lost pets of your own especially. Feel free to show it to
anyone who just doesn't "get" what loving creatures they are, maybe it will
help change their minds.

I've moved the whole lot to a new domain, needed better hosting, so the
Princess Home Page is now to be found here:

www.tarak.com.au/princess/home.html

I'm afraid the file is biggish (close to 10mb). I'll be putting a lower-res
version up in the next week or so.

I've always thought that the song "Memory" from "Cats" is perfect for
Princess - she looks like I would picture a real-cat Grizabella.

I cry every time I watch Princess' videos - how I wish she had found you
when she was a kitten so her whole life she could have been as loved as she
was at the end of it.

Hugs,

Would that I had the time. I also wanted to do Cold Play's Yellow and Cold
Chisel's The Party's Over. Memories would also be perfect.

Have you watched the final video? I needed to do something which was more
hopeful, less heartbroken. I hope it rounds out the other two.

I've had the most extraordinary reactions to these clips. A lot of people
have written saying how much they were moved by them. I seriously wondered
whether it was wise to make them public, grief is such a private thing, but
I'm now glad I did so. Many people have said they have helped in dealing
with their own grief, both for animals and people. It has also helped a
number of friends of mine who are not "cat" people to understand how
important they can be to us, and how undeserved is their reputation as cold
and aloof creatures.

And most of all: many have been moved to at least consider adopting a stray.
And the world now knows about Princess. She was so unloved and so uncared
for when I found her, it makes me happy to think that she has some small
fame now. She was a great cat, in every sense of the word.

Myself, I can't listen to any of these songs anymore without reliving the
whole thing. They will forever be "her" songs to me.

Yeah.  I still cry, but it makes me feel good to know whe was loved in her
final days.

Me too.  But most of all it lifts my spirits to think of the courage and
indomitable spirit that cats have.
