Lawcat update (partly sad)

In an IM chat shortly before she left for the island, Marina had
directed my attention to a thread here from some time ago, where she'd
said that our lawcat Tiger was missing.  Sadly, it was true; he's been
missing for months now, and we have had to assume that he's at the RB.
One day he'd put in his appearance as usual, and the next day he
hadn't, and he never did again.  DH and I spent weeks walking through
the neighborhood, calling and looking under cars and buildings and
rummaging through bushes; we'd asked all the neighbors and made them
all open their outbuildings; we asked at Animal Control and at TED's
office; DH got a flashlight and crawled under buildings.  Nothing.
Eventually we stopped looking, though we will always wonder what
happened, and I still find myself sometimes watching for him in the
direction he always came from.  I will post more about Tiger in another
thread; we miss the little guy.

In other news, Ozzy has a friend!  He's never gotten along with any
other cat ever before; not Tiger, not any of the neighbor cats, not any
of the all-too-frequent strays.  But there's a 7 month old kitten who's
enslaved one of the neighbors, and he and Oz have become best buddies.
His name is Tigger, and he's another orange tabby, with white feet and
orange eyes.  When he and Ozzy are in the office playing, the orange
stripey cuteness is just blinding.

Tigger is a kleptocat.  He selects a mousie he particularly likes and
runs with it to his house, stashes his new toy and comes right back
over to our office to hang out some more.  He's got quite a collection;
his slave asked if we wanted to have them back, and we said nah, we'd
just keep re-stocking.   :-D

Ozzy had a dental cleaning recently (poor Ozzy!) and when we picked him
up the anesthesia still hadn't worn off completely.  He was agitated
but groggy, and cried to go outside all day long.  That afternoon we
had a meeting with three clients who were forming their separate
corporations into an LLC, and that's when Ozzy finally settled down and
went to sleep.  In DH's desk chair.  DH stood through the whole 2 hours
of the meeting.

Recently we had another lawyer in the office during Ozzy's crazy time;
Oz was galumphing around the lobby chasing a mousie.  The lawyer
expressed astonishment at the amount of noise Oz was making.  Clearly
not a cat person.  ;-)

And PS to Mark Edwards - Tigger the neighbor kitten comes in our office
just to use Ozzy's litterbox, then goes back out.  Maybe Tigger has a
long-lost relative in Texas.

I'm so sorry about Tiger, Krista.  Purrs for your loss.

Very sad about Tiger :( I'm glad Ozzy has a friend though. Good to "catch
up".
