If your kitties wouldn't mind revving up for another purr request: we
(2 humans and 3 kitties) have been trying desperately to move out of
our cramped little mobile home into a real house for a few months now.
We've found a lot of affordable houses in awful neighborhoods, and a
lot of really nice places in neighborhoods we can't come close to
affording.

We got a call from a realtor today telling us we were approved for a
rental application on a house in Highland (a pretty decent area). Only
thing is, neither of humans remember applying to rent a house in
Highland! Unless one of the furgirls applied without telling us, we're
a bit confused.

I'll be calling the realtor as soon as I get home to get the whole
story. Please send us a few purrs that we'll actually find a decent
place and be able to move - my beautiful kitty girls need more room!

Dylan, eh, Monica?Dan, how do you feel about trusting Monica now to keep

is not a victory for Conan/"Dylan,"who is still in a cage around the corner

also knew that he was not going to Charlie Wilkes. What was the point

This is getting absurd. People who are living in cramped mobile homes
with three+ cats (In private e-mail, the cat count per Dan was *six*
cats, but whatever) are denying adoptions based on the square footage
of one cat to a one bedroom condominium? Are we in the twilight zone?

Dan, do the right thing. Enough is enough. You have the e-mail address
of the San Diego adopter. Get in touch with him, talk to him on the
phone and if he satisfies you that he will love and care for the cat
and not abandon him, get in your truck and drive the cat down. You
*know* that it's not about square footage, it's about loyalty, love and
care.

Stop punishing the cat and give him a home and a person of his own.

I was confused at first, too, since I thought Dan had 6 cats also but
look at the date of Dan's post, it's from 2002, it was just posted so
we would know Dan lives in Highland, wherever the hell that is.  He got
more square footage and 3 more cats in the last 3 years.  I bet he
doesn't have much more than 1,500 sq. ft., though.  Would Moncia adopt
a cat to Dan?

Ah. I didn't catch the date. Thanks, Candace.

And Lyn, I'm very slim and I already live in California and my 1100
square feet is very happily occupied with two lovely rescue cats. I
don't get over people screwing cats out of homes.

Lyn doesn't care about this cat, so she's superfluous as usual.

At least we have our proof now.

Dan will have to answer for this if he wishes to be known as an honest
person who genuinely cares about cats.

Hmmm.  Nasty posts don't usually originate from rpca.
Go back to the first post in the thread, that will often tell you where it's

And how are we to get the cat? We still have to get Monica or Dan's
permission. We can't just steal him.

If there was a way to still get him, I would do it. For awhile, I
thought he had gone into a shelter, and Monica was just pretending to
have the power. So, I tried to find what shelter he was at and ask for
adoption information. But no luck on that. And now we see the
newspaper ad with her email address, so clearly we can't get him
without going through her. If there was a way, I would do it.

This is getting ridiculous.  Can't you people simply stop with all the
speculation??

It was actually Tracyrose who posted (some time ago) that she had placed the
ad with Petfinder.  At that time, she included Dan's contact information,
although she admitted that she did not have his permission.  That isn't
proof of Dan's involvement or of where Conan is.

If anyone wants to respond to the cross-posted rubbish, please consider
*not* having the cross-posted rubbish showing in your own post. Even though
you are not cross-posting yourself, by having the stuff showing in your
reply, it just perpetuates the bad stuff.

And to be honest, I really don't know why people care. Conan WILL get a
home. And apparently a really, really GOOD home. He is in no danger of being
euthanized and since that was the original concern all the rest is just self
centered B.S. as far as I can tell.  Had to get that off my chest. Done now.
Rhonda - 12 Jul 2005 01:20 GMT
Karen,

It's just human emotion. When someone is part of a team to save a cat
then decides at the last minute give the cat to another group (but tells
the original team that someone else got to the shelter first...), it
hurts. We put a lot of hours of work into it and feel we deserve an
explanation. He has not responded to any respectful inquiries, and
emotion has increased since then.

For me, I just want honesty. If he changed his mind, just tell us. It's
wonderful to be good to cats, but you have to be good to people, too.

Other than that, I'm glad Conan is not in danger of euthanasia, and am
concerned 3 homes were turned down in the first week. I have my fingers
crossed for that cat.

Baby, please don't be like this
Good homes have been turned down
And ya'll sit over there and lampoon this business.

What do you say should be done for that one, who let's the cat rot in
confinement, and repeatedly turns down valid homes. I'd say there is a
petty abuse of power. Crap! Help us out! Dan went backwards in the
plan, Charlie was not the only prospect, (that's old news)
