I had a bad night last night. My mom has cancer and I'm so worried. I
broke down when hubby and I went to bed. `Guess I needed a good cry.
Anyway, I told hubby to please let me sleep in this morning. As I started
to "come to" today, I called out to hubby to see if he was inside (because
it was so quiet). He came upstairs and walked into the room and said,
"spooning"!!! I didn't even realize that I was on my side curled up, while
Oscar was curled up just like me next to me, and next to him, Maui was doing
the same thing.
Spooning with the cats is a wonderful thing... (If y'all know what spooning
means)!!!

Definitely know what spooning is - I sometimes like spooning as much as I
like forking! ;>
Purrs coming for your mom's recovery!

I dunno, in my experience, spooning always leads to forking ;-)

Awww! Persia and I spoon all the time. I curl up and she curls into my
middle and then I stretch out a hand and she drapes a paw over my hand
(sometimes she rests her head on my hand) and we drift off to sleep. It's
so sweet to fall asleep that way :) I can't stay that way for long, though.
I sleep facing the other way. She seems to understand.

Spooning, chuckle, chuckle.
Mr. Pumpkin adores DH, David. The sleeping arrangements are that Mr.
Pumpkin settles on David's chest while we talk, read and pay homage to Mr.
P. When we settle down to sleep the Pumpkin stretches out on the right side
of the bed from pillow on down. Then David is right center with me on the
left.
During the night Pumpkin moves closer to David, David moves closer to me,
mmm, this is nice, we're spooning! The
Pumpkin moves closer to David again, David moves closer to me again. This
is a bit too cozy. I move to the left again and once more. I am now
looking over the Mattress Cliff to the Carpet Canyon down below.
Up I get and with a whispered master sergeant voice I "order" the troops
back to their original positions. This happens many, many nights. Would I
change it. No!

I love curling up with Scouty... at night she comes and jumps onto the
end of the bed once she thinks I've settled down, and she lies up
against my leg or curled up in the crook of my knee. It's very sweet,
except when she lies right on top of my foot and sends it to sleep!
Many purrayers for your mom...

Purrs for your Mom, hugs for you.
Gossamer likes to curl up against me but rarely just sleeps. Usually
she decides she wants to suck on her tail. Which involves much spinning
in circles, trying out the position, spin some more, rinse and repeat
until she finally settles in purring up a storm, sucking on the end her
tail and kneading the bed (or my leg if it's in the way). Not terribly
restful :)
