Charleen,

You had mentioned that Mr. Pumpkin had trouble with the blood vessels in his
eyes and I was wondering what the visible symptoms were? Our Cali has
developed a brown spot in one of her Corneas, so I was wondering if she
might be Hypertensive. She is a tad skittish and moderately overweight.

TIA

How old is she, Bill?  As cats get older they start to get discolorations in
their irises.

She's about 10 now.

That's about the age they start getting them (at least Bandit did).  It's
one way vets judge age - it's like "liver spots" in people.  However,
*always* check with your vet if *anything* changes with your cat, they're
*so* good at hiding illnesses.

But if it's not bothering her I really think you don't have anything to
worry about.

Hugs,

Mr. P has no visable signs of the problem which is broken blood vessels
behind the retrina of both eyes.  It was discovered when the vet looked into
his eyes with the light thing.  He is 14 years old and 9.5 pounds.

Has Cali has a recent vet visit or due for one soon?  Does it appear to
bother her?
See Lori's note also.  Hope thatCali is okay.

Thanks Charleen & Nip, she had her annual about a month ago, with no
problems reported, other than being a little tubby. It doesn't seem to be
bothering her, but I thought I would ask.

Never hurts to ask, and the answers often educate the rest of us - I
had certainly never heard about the eye discoloration thing in older
cats.
