Dear friends,
Since our male slave Peter went away, our Meowmie has been living a
different kind of life. This life involves her being out much more than
she used to be. I don't always like her being out and when I don't,
when she comes home, I quickly make it impossible for her to do anything
other than pay attention to me :^)
Last Friday, she again went out in the early afternoon and came home
only when it was long past our teatime. How terrible is that ! Some
days she has gone out very early in the morning and come home long
before its time for our tea. I don't mind her doing that because always
on those occasions, she feeds me before she goes out and sometimes when
she gets home gives me a little something to tide me over 'til
teatime:^)
Meowmie says that we are going to have to get used to sometimes having
our breakfast very much earlier than usual (which no-one here minds) and
our tea very much later than usual (which we all mind) because she has
got herself a new part -time job - with our TED ! She is working for him
as a bank receptionist.
Meowmie says that one of the reasons why she is going out to work is
that she is trying to earn enough money to be able to go on keeping us
in the manner to which we became accustomed when our male slave Peter
lived here. If that is true, ought I to be pleased that is spending
less time at home with me ?

PS: Sometimes when I am being clingy, my Mewmie thinks it's because I
was once an abandoned cat and her going away bring back memories of
those dreadful days. I became abandoned when one day I went home and
found myself not able to get back into my house. For three months
afterwards, I lived on the streets and scavanged for food. When I was
rescued I was not very well.

My dear Mr. Jason,
I'm glad you're doing better. I joyfully serve four cats, and my mistress
Odessa was also abandoned. She was very sick for a long time before she came
to stay here and be one of my bosses.
My bosses don't like it when the other slave Louie and I have to leave the
house, but we make up for it by giving even more attention and special
treats for our teatimes. They love to get yogurt from the Indian restaurant
up the road, and our Roxie loves bits of good ham! And that's why your mama
goes out, to make life better for you. I know that you could spend all day
being petted and cuddled, but Meowmie's just making sure you get the best of
everything. She loves you very much and she's a very devoted catslave.
Blessed be,
Baha

Ah well, Jason,
What can one do with slaves? It is much better to have one than not,
even if she doesn't always observe the correct hour for tea time. They
are so much bigger than we are, and they know how to make that horrid
wheeled house that smells and sounds so bad move, while we cannot. And
they seem to have a great many mysterious "errands" that take them away
from us through the day. They are the ones who know how to open
cupboards and get our so-called food into our dishes. I think your
slave is simply trying to make sure there is ALWAYS food for your bowl
at breakfast and tea time, even if she's not always prompt with them.
But I agree, not having one's slave handy is a bore.

Jason, your story sounds very much like mine. My Mewmy is retired, so she
can stay home with me more than yours can, but we both have good homes and
somebody to love us. We need to remember that, but we must be sure our
Mewmies give us lots of loving when they are home.

That sounds like a great part time job, Sheenah. Concatulations! I'm
sure Jason and the others will adjust, especially when you can afford
to buy them some shrimpies ;-)

I'm sure your Meowmie is thinking of you first, if she is staying away from
you, since I know she misses you just as much or even more than you miss
her.
Best wishes,

It is a good thing, Jason. It helps your Meowmie to feel better too, I am
sure, since she also misses Peter. Just adjust your naptime to when she is
gone!

Dear Jason,
It is good that your Meowmie is earnng money to buy you food.
I wish my Meowmie can do the same, as I am afraid that she will one
day run out of money to buy me food.

I hope that will never happen. In the meantime, you might like to try
pinching food from her plate so that she gets the idea of what life
could be like if ever your tummy's needs are not given top priority :^)
Jason,
Purrs on their way. thaton theri for you to not ever run out of food >
