The final bill was $531.24, after a 10% senior discount.  That included the
anesthetic, the IV, an infusion so she wouldn't get thirsty, cleaning and
polishing the teeth, pulling two, as well as a bag of goodies to bring home.
There is some stuff to mix with the water I give her (which means Nanki-Poo
will get it too) to make her breath sweeter and to lessen plaque buildup.
There are three days worth of pain medication, 10 days worth of antibiotic,
some gel to rub on her gums once a week, and a tooth cleaning kit.  There's
a soft thimble-like thing to put on my finger to apply the toothpate if she
won't tolerate the brush.

The vet said Lindy is one of their favorite patients.  She tried to headbutt
them and get petting whenever she could, and she actually stuck out her
"arm" for the IV.  She's home now, and is currently doing rat patrol.  I had
to give Nanki-Poo a time out, because he wouldn't leave Lindy alone, so she
took over.

I've been using this thimble-like thing for years to brush Rusty's teeth.
Works very well. Also use it to protect my finger when I pill Rusty.
Purrs for Lindy to recover from her ordeal.

Thank you, Winnie.  And thanks for the tip about pilling.

What's it called?  I'd like to get some of that for my four!

I can't brush any of my cats' teeth - they absolutely panic and go into
attack mode if I try.  Luckily ine have never had tooth problems (the vet
couldn't believe Demi is 7 and had never had a dental cleaning - her teeth
had practically *NO* tartar).

Hugs,

Yes, it did.  I got them to agree to let me pay in two installments - one
now and the rest next month.
