A Breakthrough for Spotty

... came today when I got home from mowing. I opened up the bedroom
door to let the cats mingle. Spot ran into the bedroom to see want the
other girls were up to like she normally does. Usually Spot approaches
Sammy and they do a long distance nose sniff - maybe 4-6 inches away,
and then Sammy hisses and Spot backs off.Today when she approached
Sammy she didn't get the normal hiss, instead they actually touched
noses. Spot tried to give Sammy a head butt, but Sammy dodged. Still
no hissing, though, and they sat and looked at each other for a
mimnute or two before Sammy walked away. I'm looking forward to the
day when they actually play together ;-)

Still no luck with getting LB and Spot any closer. Unless LB is in one
of HER spots which she refuses to leave just because Spot comes close,
LB goes in the other room when she sees Spot. She did the same thing
with Rocky for a couple weeks, so guess it's just going to take longer
for her to accept Spotty.

BTW, Spotty is recovering nicely from her spay. TED told me to give
her the pain meds a couple times a day for 2-3 days if she appeared to
be in pain. Well, she seems to be over the pain and stiffness so she
hasn't received any today. She's back to playing and refusing to use
the boxes I set up so she could hop up  to her favorite napping
places. Course I'd rather she take it easy until the stitches are out,
but I'm happy to see her back to normal (except for the shaved belly).

Slowly but surely. They are doing well I think.

Yeh, I really think they're doing  pretty well. It's not really fair
to compare how quicky Spot is becoming part of the family with Rocky,
since he was a part of their experience outside for a long time before
he came inside. The only interaction Spot had with the girls before
coming inside was when she came to eat on the patio and they would all
hiss at each other through the window.

That's great news! I love a happy clowder. :-)

I'm glad to hear Spotty is doing well after her spay, and also glad that she
seems to be integrating into the clowder well.  She's come a long way from
the pregnant stray you fed outside.  Congratulations, Steve, on a job well
done - you're a goo slave!!!  ;>

Hugs,
