Goodness, but news from London has gone from one extreme to another
within the last 24 hours.
Purrs and good thoughts to all the [justifyably] terrified people in
London today.
My sister, who works in central London, rang just a half hour ago to
let us know she was OK, so we are very relieved. I'm thinking of all
the folks there who must still be in the underground.
Purrs,

Yes. Please check in when you can, and our purrs go out to all of you.

I'm okay I made it to work an hour before it happened but we are all
sitting here in shock as the news comes in. (I go through Aldgate East
twice a day every day I went through it an hour before it happened) and
the news is getting worse every passing second. A major incident alert
has gone off all the hospitals are not taking non-urgent work and our
orthopaedic consultants have been scrambled to the A&E Departments.
We're being advised not to leave as our manager thinks we are safer
here....I don't have the faintest idea how or when I will get
home.....And some friends are unaccounted for at the moment
And yes one insensitive "wit" has already blamed the French

Thank goodness!
Keep yourself safe, Lesley, and all London-based RPCA'ers. I hope you will
make it home safely tonight, on whatever transportation is available.

They've now confirmed that they are treating it as a terrorist attack.
My thoughts are with everyone affected, and their families. Still
waiting to hear from a friend who works in London.
We have a similar 'wit' at work who blamed the French (and he's
supposed to be a manager!)

I work afternoons/evenings so hadn't left for work when it happened,
thank god as I get the train that goes through Kings Cross. The bus
blew up 5 minutes from work and I've spoken to the people there who all
heard it, I can't get in touch with everybody I know that travels in
the rush hour and the ones that I have done are stuck without knowing
how they will get home. The emergency services seem to be coping
amazingly and no-one's panicking. I suppose this was bound to happen
at some time, I always thought they'd hit the transport system as
there's no way to make it secure. I also suppose today was when it
would happen, day after we won the Olympics plus George Bush over for
the G8, boy do those guys have a lot of blood on their hands.

Hello,
You and your country are in my thoughts and prayers. This is a terrible
thing. I'm glad that you were not on the train.
I'm at a loss for words.

Oh my.... I hope he's all right, Tweed! And I hope he calls soon to let you
know he's safe.
This brings back memories of 9-11... I heard this news on the radio as I
prepared breakfast this morning, in precisely the same way I heard the news
that day...

I'm 250 miles away in rural Cornwall so obviously fine. But I used to be
a London commuter until 1988
so send all my purrs & best wishes to the injured and the bereaved.
Isn't it so typical of cowardly slime to bomb the easiest targets, the
most innocent and vulnerable.
Purrs to all except terrorist types, they can have litterbox leavings.
