Lindy had to go in for her shots today, and TED gave her a thorough checkup.
Most things look good. She's lost a quarter pound (7 3/4 down from 8
pounds), which doesn't concern the doctor. However, she has some serious
dental problems. One tooth seems to be decayed, and she has an infected
gum. That means dental work. Because of her age (about 11), the vet
recommended a full blood panel before having the work done. Naturally, I
agreed. She'll call me in a couple of days with the results, and then we
can schedule the dental work. I'm really glad her shots were due now
instead of at the end of the month, because I'm going to Alaska to visit my
mother on the 31st. We should be able to get it taken care of, with plenty
of time for her to recover, before I leave.

Purrs for Lindy to come out okay with the dental. Persia's vet wants to do
a dental on her, too, but nothing like an infection, just tartar. Until I
can scrape up the funds, it will have to wait.

Thank you, Jill. Purrs that you can find the funds soon.
I have a part-time home-based word processing business to supplement my
Social Security. Business was slow for quite a while, but I've gotten
several small jobs over the past couple of weeks, including one this
evening. That will help pay Lindy's medical expenses.

Purrs for Lindy's dental to be trouble free.

Thanks, Adrian.
The vet called today and said her blood work looks good. There was one
thing that was elevated. She said it either indicates stress or a muscle
injury. Since she had examined Lindy thoroughly and saw now sign of a
muscle injury, she's sure Lindy was just stressed out by having her blood
taken. I have to take her in at 8:00 Friday morning. The vet said she
can't have anything to eat after 8 PM on Thursday. I just realized I won't
be here to pick up the dishes at 8:00, and I don't want to do it before my
Toastmasters meeting, because that would be an hour early. I'll have to see
if the boy next door can do it. He's the one who feeds my cats when I'm
away, and I'm sure he'll take care of it.

Thank you, Polonca. Your purrs and best wishes paid off. The tests were
good, Lindy is home and seems to be feeling fine.
