Lily has discovered Jazz's cat tree and has taken over. It's strange, after
several years of seeing this 15-pound handsome boy lounging on his cat tree,
to pass by and see a teeny-tiny head with big ears and round eyes peeking
over the edge. You can see the picture at:

Aww, Lily has some big paw prints to fill. But she looks up to it.

Aww how cute. She just has the prettiest little face.
What a wonderful perch, too, right by the window. I bet they enjoy it.

How cute! Wonderful location for a cat tree - no wonder she likes it
there.

She'll grow into it :) And in the meantime she's adorable! I'm sure
Jazz is happy that his beloved cat tree is still loved...

I was thinking about you and Jazz and Lily today. I decided sometimes when
our hearts are broken over the loss of a much loved pet, it might seem like
we are using a new kitten our puppy as a patch to cover the pain. Only they
don't see that as their assignment. They are more like a seed that puts its
roots down into the broken places and grows till our hearts are full again.

Jo, Lily both patched up my grieving heart and made it full again, just as
you said. I miss Jazz terribly, but Lily has filled up my days again. I love
her just as I loved him.
I got Jazz's ashes back today. I had him cremated and they put the ashes
into a beautiful wooden box with his name in a gold plaque on the front. He
will forever be with us and be watching over little Lily.

What a lovely way of describing it. We got Carrie after we lost Jemima,
Jasper's mum; although she's nothing like Jem, and never will be, she
has her own funny little ways that are just as endearing.
Fenchurch, of course, just sidled into our lives and created a little
Fenny-shaped space of her very own ;-)
