Same ol' feeling

I feel both sad and excited now.. In a few hours I am going to go on a
three-day vacation. I'm going to visit my family in Trondheim (Norway...),
the town where I grew up. It's situated 540 km (335 miles) north of Oslo,
where I live now. I will be driving up there with my ex-wife, who is going
to visit her brother.

Well, isn't this good news? Oh yes, I'm going to see my father (84) for the
first time since he came into a nursing home a few weeks ago. He had been
waiting for this for about two years, and I really look forward to meeting
him in his new home.

So why feel sad? Sad because I can't bring the cats with me! I almost never
stay away from them for more than 24 hours. Surely, I know that they will
have all they need while I'm gone, enough food, enough water, clean toilet
(at least when I leave...), but I'm going to miss them a lot!

On our way up there, I think we're going to pick up a kitten from the
breeder where we got our first Devon Rex, Loomis, and bring it to Trondheim.
It's quite a long trip (about 6-7 hours), and I hope the kitten won't get
car sick or something... Anyway, we get cat company on the way!

I don't know if me and ex-wife will be travelling back to Oslo together, but
I have to go back on Thursday, because if she doesn't, I have to take care
of her two cats as well... :-)

I think this is going to be my only vacation this summer, I can't afford
anything else, so I better grab the chance, I guess.

If possible, I'll send you a report on the situation while I'm up there!

Its great that your Father was well enough to get out of the Nursing Home.
I hope you enjoy your time with him.
