Gracecat - 04 Jul 2005 23:35 GMT I never so loved RPCA before today. I peeked over in RPCh+b. Oh my...
Maybe I shouldn't have because I enjoy posters here. I was ignorant of the mayhem there.
Sheesh...
Grace glad she's here and not there

That's why I ventured over there after the latest crosspost.
It's going to create issues, I haven't ever not once plonked a regular poster in RPCA, but if it continues I believe I will.

I suggested (paraphrased) they stop crossposting garbage just because they can't get their own sh.t together and communicate sufficiently to rescue a cat and leave rpca out of it.

She put an ad in PetFinders and used Dan's personal contact information (his cell phone number, I think, since he gave it to one of the "rescuers" when he was trying to help out) - *without Dan's permission*!!!!!!!!!!! Talk about no good deed going unpunished!!!! I thought it was bad when someone from rpch+b left a nasty message on my cell phone, but at least they didn't publish to the world!!!!!!!!

I think everyone over there has contracted a mass psychosis. After I was accused of setting Bandit on fire (and was again as of today) - among other *really* nasty things - I said I was going to continue posting there just out of stubbornness so that the crazies wouldn't think they had run me off with their vileness. But even that is becoming a moot point - they're getting scary with their taking their craziness into real life!

God I love the way you folks post like you are posting to a private group.
Grace--killfile me. I promise you it won't hurt a bit.
If you all want to keep the groups separate I suggest you follow your own advice.

Did I miss a crosspost here? Sorry if I did. I don't think everyone does it on purpose, they just miss it when replying to someone who has.
Mary, and anyone else I might have given offense to, I'm sorry, I was out of line. I just got weirded out when I saw what happened to me happening to someone else on a worse scale.
I think I'm just going to lay low and concentrate on the new job for a while.

Candace - 05 Jul 2005 00:34 GMT > Shhhh. > Don't give anyone ideas. It's not like we're a bunch of Satanists over there, though. Most people who post to both groups respect the "rules" over here when they post here. And those who don't wish to abide by the rules don't generally post here at all.
There are a lot of really nice people on rpchb. It's just a different "flavor." I've posted there for 6 years and I'm *generally* nice. The person who crossposted today does not understand those "rules."

I wonder if those who ask that the groups remain separate might refrain from dragging things that are happening in rphb into rpca? I thought we had all agreed on that? I mistakenly replied to a post that I did no tnotice was crossposted over here, but am more careful now.
jmcquown - 05 Jul 2005 01:25 GMT >>> Yeah, for one, you do not post private emails. Exceedingly poor >>> taste regardless of the ng. [quoted text clipped - 6 lines] > replied to a post that I did no tnotice was crossposted > over here, but am more careful now. I for one *am* abiding by that. I didn't cross post my answer to Charlie Wilkes and this thread is not cross-posted. I think Grace's post was merely a reminder to all to try to keep it that way.

The > person who crossposted today does not understand those "rules." Catnipped is repeatedly admonished for bringing rphb issues here--then Gracecat begins a new thread about what is going on in rchb here in rpca. That, my friend, is called blatant hypocrisy.
KellyH - 05 Jul 2005 01:21 GMT > It's not like we're a bunch of Satanists over there, though. Most > people who post to both groups respect the "rules" over here when they [quoted text clipped - 6 lines] > > Candace I'm in the same boat as Candace. I'm generally a "nice" poster. I don't use a lot of swears in my posts and try to help people out where I can. I prefer to post over on h+b because most of the time it's about people looking for help on various cat problems and I feel like I have something to offer. I just ignore the food debates ;) I tried to get into rpca, but the amount of posts is too much to keep up with. I like sharing cute stories about my cats, though, so maybe when I have one I'll drop by. It's really not that bad on h+b (most of the time) and there are some great people.

Just to give one perspective, I originally explored h+b, as one of my interests is veterinary medicine. To put it mildly, some of the egos I encountered were up to, or exceeding, those of the more egotistical human surgeons.
Human physicians, however, do have to have a basic level of knowledge, and they can and are challenged by their peers without having a complete snit. Apparently, some posters on h+b believe they have a definitive knowledge of laboratory medicine without understanding any of the underlying theory.
When someone challenges a medical or scientific position I take, I fall back on scientific training and explain my reasoning, and, where appropriate, give references. Unfortunately, on h+b, a molecular-level explanation of why a poster may be incorrect, more often than not, triggers a tantrum in response.
If I want tantrums, I'll go talk to neurosurgeons.

> "flavor." I've posted there for 6 years and I'm *generally* nice. The > person who crossposted today does not understand those "rules." > Candace Yes, great people post to rpchb. I don't have any problems with your posts here or there. I've gained a lot of knowledge from people there. Unfortunately, it's now difficult to find a useful thread that doesn't break down into personal insults and back-stabbing. I'm sad to think that new people will not be able to get the information they can use to benefit their cats because they will not see any value in jumping into that fray. The shame is that it's the cats who lose out the most. I'm grateful to rpca. It is my oasis when the world is in turmoil. I resent it when people spill their poison over here. Annie
CatNipped - 05 Jul 2005 02:26 GMT > > Shhhh. > > Don't give anyone ideas. [quoted text clipped - 9 lines] > > Candace No, of course not Candace. It's just a different group with a different "tone". There are people here (mea culpa) who have gone over there and post differently in response to that tone. Probably the best thing to do is either ignore crossposts, or post recipes - that's always worked in the past.
The thing that got to me was something happening to someone which happened to me, except on a worse scale. I really don't know what's going on with Conan - and what I think really doesn't matter, but I hate to see someone who only started out trying to help being hurt by what's going on, that's all.
Hugs,

When you left there your words were something to the effect of "Grace... who knows something bad will be said about her now"
Well dear, no one said anything about you after you left (disappointing isn't it).. You're over hear bad mouthing those over there so pot... kettle.. black...
And don't worry about asking me to keep it out of here, I'm gone... perhaps you need to keep it over there.
