Persephone, our tuxeudo girlcat with a personality three times the
size of her diminutive body, has a new nickname - Rorschach Blot.
When I lifted her front legs up and DH and I had a look at her belly,
she looked *just* like an inverted rorchach blot test!  Of course,
since I have trouble spelling it, it won't be a long-term nickname
(unless I abbreviate it to "schatzie"!), but it had me and DH giggling
this am.

Ok, but why were you looking at her belly? :)
Tish Silberbauer - 03 Jul 2005 01:44 GMT
You mean you *don't* gaze adoringly at your cats' bellies?
Admittedly, we don't do this to Ted, who would rip our arms off at the
shoulders  :^)
Persephone has her blot, but Spocky has two very cute white patches
(the only bits of white on him).  The one on his chest has been
labelled "the medal from the Queen" by my Dad; the other between his
hind legs is his nappy!

Our poor cats - they put up with so much!

OK, I do say that Pearl has "a bikini". But she rarely let's one see it.  :)

My little Cheeky (who weighs a whopping 7 1/4 lbs according to the
vet today!) has a creamy tummy with browny gray spots on it. :O)
She is a gray tabby with some brown and lots of white around her
mouth so she always looks like she has a smile on her face. I kiss
her belly when she stretches and she does not mind at all! ;)

Stinky's belly is a magnificent expanse of blinding pure white. ;)

Yours don't shamelessly flaunt their bellies?

Smokey loves to show us his tickle spot between his forelegs, off to
the left...a patch of white on a field of grey.

Tyche has a little white line down through patches of orange-tabby and
brown-tabby, while Kumani's belly is a lighter tawny than the rest of
her.

Even Nocturne will show us her dark bounty from time to time...Her
belly is as black as the rest of her.

This has not much to do with what you said, but as a child I was a very
precocious reader.  Until someone told me later, I always read in my mind
"Percy-fone"  and "Penny-lope" because I'd never heard the words said ;-)

This made me laugh out loud, because we not only have a Percy-fone in
our house, but a Penny-lope too!  My mother is a Penelope.  We usually
call Persephone "purse-eff-o-knee", but she knows her name and comes
running.  If we want to discuss her without her knowing we call her
"percy-fone" and she ignores us!  Penny-lope, being a hoomin, is not so
easily fooled :^)

You're not the only one, I was the same, as I'm sure were many others.

To this day I worry about saying out loud in a conversation words that I've
only read.  For the longest time I though "sough" was pronounced "sow" until
it clicked one day when I heard someone say "the wind was soughing through
the trees" and realized that it wasn't "the wind was sighing through the
trees".

Hugs,

Betty has a line of white going down her chest and belly, and partly
down both her thighs.  When I pick her up, it makes her tummy look
like the Eiffel tower.

LOL *great* image!  Your Betty sounds like the sweetest kitty.
