I used to have a handle on life...but it broke off.

Oh yes! My Chloe had the hiccups this morning. She looked so funny.
Thankfully it stopped after a few minutes.

Many years ago I heard Rusty made a sound like a hiccup. I posted the same
question to this group's predecessor -  rec.pets.cats

Frank gets them every now and then. Once, he almost scared me to death.
We were on the island. It was a rainy day, and I was laying on the bed,
reading a book. Frank was laying by my side under the blanket. Suddenly,
he started twitching rhythmically. OMG, I thought, he's having some kind
of seizure!! I jumped up an ripped the blanket off him. He looked up
with sleepy eyes and a disgruntled look and went hic... hic... hic.

Persia was stretched out on me while I was reading when I felt this HMMPH
thing.  I looked at her.  She didn't look at all perturbed.  I kept
watching.  HIC.  She blinked then closed her eyes.  HIC!  Opened her eyes
and yawned.  HIC!  I actually told her to go drink some water if it would
stop the hiccups!  She just rolled over and did upside-downy head on me and
said "shush, I'm trying to sleep" :)
