I can see.

LOL!! Now I see what you mean. I thought for a second that I was
losing my little tiny mind!! Yes, that looks exceptionally sick. But the
amethyst bowl is lovely!! :)

Yes, the bowl was very lovely. ;)
I'm not at all convinced there's zero brain damage in the dog though, even
if it were true. People swear it is. I hope not. But I can't tell if it's
false or not.

You don't need to be convinced, it's just an interesting theory. Neither
does it matter whether or not it's false. It doesn't mean our loved ones
can come back to life once they are gone, I'm so sorry Gracie.

It's ok Tweed. I wasn't applying this to Eve's accident in the least. (Not
sure if anybody thought I was)
According to the article, it's not theory in the least. They applied the
knowledge and successfully drained the dog of blood and "froze" it's
circulatory system until they "refilled" the dog with it's blood. And it
lived, after three hours of clinical death... in what is in essence a
cryogenic frozen state.
The whole thing smacks of false claims. I doubt very seriously they're going
to be able to pump a dying soldier on the field with frozen stuff after
bleeding him in order to "hold" his necessary emergency medical care.
But I'm just cynical ;)

I think if it was real it would have been headline news all over the
world, not just an obscure website.

Ummmmm...... I'd really hesitate to accept as fact something
I read on an electronic newssheet titled "News for Nerds"!
Consider the context before you accept it as a report on any
genuine research.

I agree Evelyn, that's why in my first post with the wrong url, I said I
didn't believe it ;)

Well that was my out of my mind experience for the afternoon. (And I am
grinning here) Could not imagine what problem there was with the purple
bowl. It really doesn't do any harm to wake me up once in a while.

There is a *big* difference between *reviving* a creature that had
suffered a *technical* death due to medical experimentation and
bringing an obviously deceased creature back to life.
Heck, there's a whole bunch of people who have been declared clinically
'dead' but have made full recoveries (Joel is one of htem). It just
shows that clinical 'death' isn't the same as *actual* death.
I still feel sorry for the doggies, though.

Gracecat - 01 Jul 2005 03:08 GMT
*nods* I understand that under most circumstances Yowie.
But if the brain has stopped functioning, the heart doesn't beat and you're
drained of *all* blood.... somewhat frozen... I'm trying to wrap my brain
around the possiblity of that one.

No, no, and no....no zombie doggies (gag)...but the Hopitus thinks the
Deadly Duo would truly appreciate that purple bowl as their new water bowl,
right between their two ceramic food bowls! ROFL.
Did you see "Pet Sematery"? Zombie kitty.

Well, you just bid on that bowl, right now. I think it is suitable for
the Deadly Duo. After all, amethyst is even mentioned in the Bible in
the descriptions of Heaven.
LOL. I'm half joking, really. My cats eat out of only the best. I used
to antique-shop. I found that "fruit bowls" make excellent cat bowls.
They're small and shallow. They eat off of Fenton, Blue Willow, Desert
Rose and the like. I bought any I'd find with small chips, or fading
for 25-50 cents!
I tried to read the link but I got too creeped out. It was too Pet
Semetery-ish and was just plain scary to me.

I was confused, too. Now I understand. I don't believe it, myself. It
sounds like a National Enquirer story.

I'm still really, really confused. What is wrong with the bowl? How does it
connect to that other link? I'm just confoosed.

LOL! You had me wondering about the bowl, too.
Yeah, I saw that story yesterday. Apparently it's true. Very interesting.

I think you're right - the newsletter itself appears to be a
joke site. (But I don't see what's "sick" about it - its
the kind of thing one encounters in scinece-fiction regularly.)
