It is such a stress reducer, a lot like popping bubble wrap but more fun.
My high score is 52,000.
Question: why do bubbels at the bottom sometimes
disappear even though you have not hit anywhere near them? Tia
Mary
What game is this?
Thanks,
Jen

They just do! Continue to play and you will get over it in a few weeks - or
at least I did. The worst thing is when you are near to finishing and then
it gives you new lines of bubbels..
I am completely recovered from this game now, it took a while.

I read your comment that you were recovered, with some sense of
relief. I have been at it now for a couple of weeks!!! I am glad to know
that Bubbels may one day release me! ;)

When you feel that you have *really* had enough, don't want to play any more
but just can't help it, here is my tip. Turn off the sound. I really do
think that it's that popping sound that's the addictive part. It worked for
me, anyway!
In the meantime, have fun..

Doesn't work for me. I turn off the sound all the time so everyone else in
the house doesn't know how I'm wasting my time. I'll get a game under
20,000 and them quit. I swear. (Like maybe if the first screen comes up all
one color to start with)

Oh my. I think that is the best part. In fact, I don't find it fun if it is
off. I got a bubbels game for my palm and the sound is different so I don't
like it. (It also bugs Pearl. She does NOT like the beepy noise the game on
the palm makes.)

I think you're right!! I just tried it without the sound and it is not the
same!!
Thanks, Tweed!

It doesn't always help. My sound card is senile and only works properly
once in a while. Most of the time, I have a silent computer.
I still like Bubbels, sound or no sound. :o)
Just got a new personal-best high score, too, so I'm all happy. 115730.

BTW... the CATS like the bubble-popping noises, on the infrequent occasion
when there's actually sound coming from the computer.

I am still an addict. I admit it. Gotta go now. Bubbels is waiting
for me . . . .

Have a look at the way the bubbels sit, they are in hexagonal packing
order (as circles do). But since you are working in rows, they don't
fit evenly along hte vertical edges. You'll notice that down the sides,
one row will be very close to the side, and the next row will have a
small gap. If a row is close to the right hand 'wall', there will be a
gap on the left side 'wall' of that row and vice versa.
When the rows move down, they shift a little to take these gaps into
account. Rows that had a gap onthe right side will move down and then
have a gap on the left. Rows that had a gap on the left side move down
tohave a gap ont he right. The net effect of this movement is that the
bubbels that were touching in a vertical sense will stop touching each
other and be one bubbel width apart when the rows move down by an odd
number, and come back together again when they move down again by an
odd number..
Bubbels can only stay on the playing field if there is an unbroken
connection between the bubbels and the 'ceiling'. (this is why they
explode if you pop the bubbels above them), But when they move down,
that connection may change so some bubbels are no longer have an
unbroken connection to the 'ceiling'. And thus, they have to explode.
Which can be remarkably convenient if you have a long 'stalactite' that
you can'totherwise get rid of, but you don't get any points for popping
bubbels in this way.

(how did I get to be the bubbels expert?)
(because you play it *far* too much, silly)
PS. For some reason I can no longer post easily from work I have to use
Google (mutter mutter). Although IC an stillr ead the group here,
you'll find I am being quietr than usual because I have been gagged.
