I love Scout and Silver with all of my heart... but I always wanted
more than two cats. There are so many poor babies looking for homes
and I want to love them.
Silver seems to be much less timid than she was before, but Scouty
hasn't really improved. I thought a friendly little lapfungus kitten
would show her that there's nothing to be afraid of (either that or
she'd just totally ignore it as beneath her notice), but my mother
thinks she'd think we didn't love her any more and it would make her
very unhappy... I don't know. Does getting an extra feline housemate
help or hinder a very shy cat?

IT's always up to the individual cat...
Getting two kittens has helped Nocturne and Smokey. Smokey now has
someone to play with who APPRECIATES it. Nocturne now has peace and
quiet, because Smokey is playing with the kittens rather than hassling
her. She adapted quickly to the kittens because they were just
babies--therefore not threats to her dominance.
I think kittens would be MUCH easier for Scout to cope with than a more
aggressive adult cat.
