Well, things are going better over here.  Spot and Orcat(t) mommy
came a-visiting on Friday, Saturday, AND Sunday, and she and her
boyfriend spent significant amounts of time in the bedroom with
the boys.  Orca(t) loved the attention, but Spot very pointedly
ignored them, even checking over his shoulder several times to
make sure they NOTICED that he was ignoring them. Very funny.
But, he's out from under the bed! He's eating!  I think the
visits helped a lot.
Orca(t) has even ventured out into the hallway and living room,
even after Rita chased him a few times.  It's only been a week,
so I think every little bit works. The Feliway must be working
its magic.  It's reached a point where I don't keep the bedroom
door closed, just cracked a bit, so if they wanted to get out,
they could, and so Rita can smell them more.

Last night, since mommy was sleeping in the living room, I left
the bedroom door open, just in case, and was waked up at midnight
to a snarl worth of a full-grown panther.  Must have been Spot,
because I saw Rita leave the room in a hurry, and even without
my glasses, I noticed that she was fluffier than usual. Well,
if she'd just come in and get on the bed with me, it would have
been FINE.  But nooooo, she has to check out the baby huey under
the bed (Spot is twice her size).  I think Spot is just extra
nervous because of his lack of claws.  If I weren't already
against declawing, seeing Spot would have made me so.  I honestly
think that one of the reasons he's so nervous is the lack of
claws. He feels very unprotected.  He's got a great snarl, though.

So the saga continues. Rita is getting better, and I think she and
Orca(t) might actually start playing together one of these days.
Spot will probably just watch.
They'll be going to their new foreverhome in late July.

Nice to hear things are calming down there. Hope Rita forgives you soon
after the 'introoders' leave.
