Marina - 26 Jun 2005 17:52 GMT We met! Christine K and I met in town today. I handed over the feline mystery books to her, and we went for a nice ice cream and nattered about our cats. As you may be able to tell from the photo, it's hot (for us) in Helsinki today. The same photo is in the Catslaves 'We met' folder.

Marina was lucky I didn't start selling her anything... LOL

SuzQ - 26 Jun 2005 18:15 GMT Sounds great. It was around 100f here yesterday, which is very unusual for Massachusetts. Sweltering Suz&Simmering Spicey*
*actually not, I have central air.
Hopitus - 26 Jun 2005 19:03 GMT Eager to see what my favorite Finns look like, I went to your photos - what I could see briefly: two pretty ladies, no cats - but this obnoxious ad keeps slapping itself right over Marina's face (!) and I can't drag it off her. Can you do anything about the ad so I can see you, Marina? I am grateful that unlike a lot of this Yahoo stuff, I don't have to "register" w/anything to see your pics. Note: the tiny pic (which I can't see well) is clear, it's the enlarged pic that the ad covers Marina up.

I've saved the picture to my hardc drive, I could email it to you if you'd like me to.

I also added the pic into my Webshots account. Created a new album for People. The addy to my Webshots pics is in my sig, just choose the album People to see us. I also had probs with Marina's Yahoo album, it shifted the photo so that Marina's face was hidden under an ad.

Can you do anything about the ad so I can see you, Marina? I am Which browser do you use? I use Firefox (http://www.mozilla.org/products/firefox/central.html), which has an add-on called Ad Block that enables me to right-click and block all kinds of ads. :) I highly recommend it!

Hopitus - 26 Jun 2005 21:15 GMT Bless you, Victor...looks like you've forgiven me for my "blue suedeshoes" lapse....after fooling w/this right-click Mozilla ad-business, I finally got rid of the ad on Marina's face....to reveal two pretty ladies! I had no idea (don't like reading tutorials) of this feature; geek son told me IE is crap afa firewalls, so here I am w/a browser I don't understand much, 3 firewalls, 2 virus-sniffers, 2 pop-up killers, spyware sniffers, and 2 spam-erasers... safer but way dumber, duh. Thanks again, Victor.

Victor in Austin, Texas, where the temperature is 93F (34C) with 40% humidity and not a cloud in the sky. The forecast calls for 100F (38C) by Tuesday....

And another "besides", I'm not all Finnish, only half. My dad's German-Russian.

It's not even 10 am and it's 32C outside already. The humidity is much higher than 40% though, probably over 80%. There are black bottomed towering cumulous building towards the west. But all in all, it's an ususually cool day and I haven't even turned on the aircon yet and the fan aimed at me is only on 1.
