We just got off the phone with Dr. Moore's assistant - Harri is coming
home! We can go het her any time after 10:30. We'll get some photos of
the pickup, and I'll post them as soon as we return home.

Everybody, thank you, thank you, thank you! For your purrs and prayers,
for your emotional support and financial support, for your words of
encouragement - it has made this entire ordeal much more bearable. And
once she's home Harri will want to send her meows of thanks too.

This post scared the crap out of me when I read the header. I thought
you meant the other home. Guess I was still in church mode.
Yay Harri!

YAY!  I'm *SO* glad she's better.  Did the vet ever find the reason (I'm
sort of in the same boat just not *nearly* so bad with Jessie - the
treatment is working, but I still don't know what was wrong with her)?

Also, is the vet bill taken care of or could you still use some help?

Hugs,

CatNipped

The vet described Harri's condition as pyothorax, rather than
chylothorax. Still waiting to hear the cinal results on the culture -
I'm very curious about that.

The vet bill is taken care of, thanks! Everybody in this group is so
wonderfully caring and generous and gave so much towards Harri's bill
that the settlement check on my totalled pickup truck (which should
arrive any day now) should cover the remaining vet bill just fine. It
would have been much worse without all the help we received.

Given a choice between spening that money on a 2nd vehicle and not
having my little Roadcat, or spending the money on Harri and not getting
a second vehicle, it's really a no-brainer. We've been going without a
second vehicle for months now, so we'll just keep it up.

Please let us know when you hear.  Did they say whether the pyothorax was a
one-time thing or an on-going condition you'll have to deal with?

I sure wish everyone felt that way!  You're a gem, Dan!

It might be an on-going thing. We've got two liquid oral antibiotics and
vitamin K tablets we have to give her. All three prescriptions say they
can be refilled, and the vet tech says we will almost certainly have to
refill them and keep treating Harri for a while.

Hooray!  I know they're waiting for her over in rpcc, something about a
homecoming party...?  Don't tell them I told you!

*Excellent* most excellent.

Give her some gentle headrubs from me; Harri, that is, not Dr Moore's
assistant ;-)
