I have been depressed is why I haven't been posting lately. The only
jobs I seem to find that I can do, I never hear from after i apply.
The three Temp agencies have never called me. By the end of next month
i will finally qualify to get part-time work through AARP.
But I did get my bankruptcy going. My hearing date is July 28 at 4pm.
And since they go alphabetically, it will be a late day for me. I will
have to leave home at 2:30 to get there in time. Since I want Jeff to
go with me to hold my hand, he won't be there to feed Sheba. So I have
decided to feed her a small meal early and another when I get back,
then give her insulin. I hope it doesn't mess with her blood sugar too
much.
Trying to make my money stretch for a long period, when I don't know
if I will get a job soon, is nerve-wracking. I have become a
first-class penny-pincher. Since i live so far from the city, I do a
lot of job searching on the internet, including applications and
resume, in order to save gas. $2.02 a gallon right now.
Fortunately, I like pork n beans and weiners. I found some cheap food
for Sheba at Walmart (Special Kitty) that has no food starch (carbs).
I still smoke some; but my sister in Texas is sending me cigarettes.
She gets them cheap there. But I have to give her my garden statues
when she comes up here for vacation. I was originally going to take
them to the Flea Market with a lot of other stuff one of these days.
I am rather surprised that there aren't more jobs at the Temp Agencies
with people going on summer vacation. Maybe this is a bad year for
employment. But I am hanging in there. One of these days I am sure
there will be a job for me. I just gotta be positive.
Well, that is a quick update on my situation. I am trying to pull
myself out of depression. I even started taking my vitamins again!
(when I get depressed, I say, why bother?) There has just got to be a
file clerk job somewhere for me. But I need it soon. Purrs, please?

Purrs and gentle headbutts for you Catherine that you feel better and
find a desirable job as quickly as possible. We've missed your stories
and enjoyed the one you just posted about Robin and Jeff and the mouse.

Purrs that you sort out your problems and overcome your depression. I

So nice to hear from you again. I know all about depression and how it robs
you of any initiative you ever had.
I am a little confused about something though, and need to make sure I have
understood properly. You are down on your luck at the moment. Your sister
can get you cheap cigarettes. Is she asking you to give her your garden
statues in return for this "favour"?

Well, I was telling her I planned on selling the statues at the flea
market for $5 or so. She offered me $15 apiece. So I made a deal with
her for the cigarettes instead, since she can get them cheaper than I
can. She can't afford to just give me money and I have no idea if I
could pay back a loan in a reasonable time. So we worked this deal
out. And since I really like my statues, I would rather they go to
someone who cares for them like I do and I will someday get to see
them when i visit her. So it is a win-win situation.

Thanks for all the purrs. I don't know how many there were. My news
server had a breakdown and I only got a few posts this afternoon. So a
lot of posts got lost in cyber-space. Anyway, when I finally get a
job, I will be doing a dance of joy and thanking all the purrers!

I am so sorry to hear things aren't going so well for you and that you
are depressed. I wish I could help you out financially, but I'm in
about the same boat here. But I surely will send Mega-Purrs your way
for work to find its way to you very soon.

Catherine, at our shelter we feed Pro Plan exclusively as it is donated
by the Purina Mill here. But people all the time are donating cases of
various kinds of cat food. We never use them, they don't like to switch
brands (makes for upset tummies and stinky litterboxes).
So we just give it away to people who need it. There is tons of Special
Kitty, a lot of Friskies, 9-Lives and Sheba down there right now. I
wish there was a way I could get some to you. I wonder if the shipping
cost would be exhorbitant on that. Would you be interested?

Thanks anyway; but I am afraid the shipping cost wouldn't save me
anything. However, maybe someone in the group lives near enough to
drive there. Aren't you in Okla? Steve Touchstone lives in Lawton. I
sure hope someone nearby can use it.

Lots of purrs and hugs, CATherine -- try looking online at this site -- I
noticed it in Newsweek and have checked it to see if there are any summer

You can look for specific jobs in your area with this -- there was mention
in an email today of a retail merchandising job in our area (Albuquerque)
but it sounds like this company has jobs all over -- here's a copy of the
email I received:
