I took Harvey to the Vet this am for a dental. While I was there
waiting for them to put Harvey in the back a young lady came in very
upset. The vet tec asked her what was wrong and she got her furbaby out
of the carrier and showed his backside to the tec.  This poor kitties
ball sac (sorry for a lack of better words) was swollen to the size of
a softball literally. Said kitty had  been neutered at the area SPCA on
Friday.  If you guys could spare them lets send some purrs out for this
little guy that he gets well soon.

Skritches,
KittyLady and Harvey who will soon wake to pearly whites:)~

Did your Vet say the poor kitty could be helped?  Is there more to this
story?   MLB

Hi MLB,
I did not get a chance to talk with the owner (she was to upset) but
from what I could gather from her and the tecs conversation was that it
had happened slowly since yesterday. When the tec was trying to calm
her, I heard the tec say it really wasn't that uncommon and that it
would be alright.  I go to pick Harvey up at 3PM and I am going to try
and find out then how the kitty is doing.

While we are  purring and praying for our sick furkids, could some purrs
and prayers be given for Brennan Hawkins, the 11 year old Boy Scout who is
missing in the Uintah Mountains since Friday.?  Best wishes for all who
mourn,   MLB

I had not even heard about that.  Purrs for him and his family. I can
imagine how they feel.

That's wonderful news! When I saw pictures of that swolen river, I
feared the worse. Thank you for the update.

Another day of intense searching for Brennan without success.  Soliciting
purrs and prayers for this 11 year old Boy Scout who disappeared in the
Uintah Mountains.

Many purrs on the way for the little guy to soon be better. Stories
like this remind us that, although speutering is pretty routine,
complications can always take place.

Something very similar is unusual, but not unheard-of, in human urology.
The scrotum can collect fluids and has limited connections to drain them.

It's usually no more than a blood vessel that needs to be tied or
cauterized. Needs treatment before pressure buildup causes other
problems, but not dangerous if treated promptly.
