Cat flood story

Hi there:

There is a great picture in the Calgary Herald today showing a man, his
suitcase, and three cat carriers getting airlifted out by helicopter.  The
relevant part of the story says:

One road south, Julie Tarjan wouldn't leave without her cats, but as water
surrounded the house and rose a metre-and-ahalf in the basement, emergency
crews came with an Alpine Helicopter to the rescue. Her husband, Paul, swung
with the cats on the first trip, Julie followed with the cat food, and the
dog followed with the final rescuer. The normally ankle-deep creek by their
house was a lake and a muddy river, buffeting trees. "We thought we were
flood proof," said Julie, "but nothing will hold that back."

The link to the picture (I've been trying in vain to copy it and stick it on
webshots) is as follows:
http://ee.canada.com/daily/Skins/CalgaryHerald/navigator.asp?skin=CalgaryHerald&BP=OK
and you have to go to page A4 to see the picture, which is pretty
spectacular.  In the middle right of the top toolbar from the paper there is
a box that allows you to click forward to the page, otherwise, you have to
click on the big arrows on the side of the page to go to the next page.
Sorry I couldn't get a direct link!

I can't imagine how it stressed the cats to be in their carriers, hanging
sideways pressed against the sides, 100 feet in the air, and under the loud
sounds of the rotating helicopter blades.  My boys would need a lifetime of
therapy to recover!

Shoot!  I logged out of the paper, sent the link to myself, and without
re-logging in was able to see the picture.  Maybe it will be free tomorrow!

copy & are unable to save it yourself.

I suspect that the cats were wailing "I'm about to DIE!!!!" in
cat-language.

I'm glad you figured it out because I didn't! Wow. That would be pretty
scary. I did read one article by an 18 year old and they had to leave their
cats and dog in the upper floor of their house :(  Poor everyone. What
terrible flooding.

Thanks for letting us not-so-savvy finally see the pic! What lucky cats! Did
you show this photo to Otis & Chester? And remind them that cats can swim,
but don't like to?

Thanks for figuring it out. I couldn't. What a spectacular pic! Poor
kitties, they must have been terrified. Glad that they were saved, though.
