I decided to try and take Miranda out for walkies today since it's a
glorious warm, sunny day (yes, Victor, it's *warm* at 20 C). At first,
when I set her down on the lawn, she slithered around on her tummy, but
was visibly more interested in her surroundings than scared of them.
Gradually, as she started exploring, she rose up from the ground, until
finally she was walking normally. The only thing I have to teach her now
is that Meowmie can't follow her into every bush along the way.

I had to pick her up and bring her back inside soon, though, because I'm
worried about her harness. I bought the smallest harness I could find
and adjusted it to the smallest size, but it's still loose around her
neck (it's H-shaped, but the part around her body fits pretty snugly).
She's so skinny. Couldn't find any kitten harnesses. I'm worried that
now that she seems comfortable with the harness on and being outside,
she might manage to slip the harness off. I'm glad she likes the Out,
though, because that will make it so much nicer for her on the island
(we leave in two weeks).

I went out with Frank, too. Usually, he heads straight for the nearest
clump of grass, sits there eating for a few minutes, and then wants back
in. Well, he did the grass-eating bit today, too, but then he set off on
a walk, which was a nice surprise. I've missed Sunday walkies since
Nikki's been gone (4 weeks today).

Miranda's going to love the island. :-)

A house is not a home, without a cat.

Glad to hear that Miranda is getting used to the walkies. Perhaps you
could take the harness is by sewing a little loop in it so that it will
be a little smaller?

I'm so glad to hear Miranda is so interested in her walkies. Frank sounds
like he would like some regular walkies too.
Best wishes and purrs,

Aren't there harnesses for smaller/more slender animals, like maybe ferrets?
Maybe those would work.

Glad Miranda was so good on the harness.
