Well, finding another place would result in a number of things
1. (most important) Convincing my roomie that we should move. It may
not seem too hard, but it' could be. She knows all too well the
results of a stray cat just showing up. Currently at her family home
in Anaheim CA they have about 14 cats, more than half of them are
strays that showed up and never left. That's why she's torn right now
at this stray, and is telling me, "I know how this usually ends up!"
2. (Other important fact) Money.... When it comes down to it, it's all
about the $$$$$$$$$ I put in a lot of hours at the vet clinic but I
don't make enough to live.
2A. My parents have been supporting me ever since I went to college and
when it comes down to it, they are the ones paying the rent. They are
the ones that I have to convince to dole out the money. I might be
able to swing it for a while on my own, but i'm still a student and
$8-9 an hour isn't going to cut it. Explaining that I want to move
will be one thing, and they probably will try to talk me out of moving.
If they find out because it's another cat, I know they will
automatically try to talk me out of moving and try to get me to get rid
of the third cat. "You complain that you're struggling financially, so
why on earth would you take on another cat?" That would be the start
of a whole series of issues and lead to conversations that I do NOT
want to have with my parents. (long story, but they are part of the
reason why i'm on antisepressants and why I turn to occasional
substance abuse)
2B. My roommate is currently in a lot of credit card debt, and I don't
know just whether she can handle the financial burden of moving or
paying possibly higher rent. Not really sure until I even mention the
possibility.
3. All the other hassles of moving, including stopping all the current
utilities, starting up new ones and just the whole process of moving.
I have considered making this cat a program kitty, but that will not be
until September, and it will be quite a feat to keep this cat a secret
until then.
Now remember when I tried to place Tinta, our other program kitty and
Evelyn from this group showed interest? It didn't work out, but if
Evelyn is still looking to get a friend for her cat Melisande then I
might have a possible home.
I've also talked to my coworker who works with a pet rescue to see if
they have space for another cat.
She is quite a sweetie, and though she still is skittish I know that
she'll get along eventually. I like her and yes I'm falling for her,
but if the landlord/owner suddenlyv finds out and gives me a 30 notice
to move out, then things really could get bad. Remember, this
apartment building has a no pets policy, and I managed to get special
permission(in writing) to have ONE cat. Currently I have Imp AND
Mischief. Imp is so quiet that no one really notices him. So the risk
has increased the moment I brought the stray in here. So far the stray
is still hiding under the bed but who knows what else could happen...
Argh......I am looking at apartments, and homes for the cat, I'm
basically checking as many possibilities as possible at this point.
Purrs that I figure something out.

I think they have to give you one month notice by law, but that is just a
"by the way". Well, you'll figure out what you have to do. And you can
always claim she's "homework".
