John won "Best in Show"!  They handed him a check for $1500 and said "Thank
you very much for bringing your art here."  Isn't that just great?!  He's
also sold a few pieces so this show isn't as much of a dog as we feared it
might be :)

Dinner tonight - I'm going to pan-fry some bay scallops which I will lightly
coat in breadcrumbs and I'll be making some couscous to go with.  I'll stir
in some broccoli and garlic slivers and grated carrot to add something to
the plain couscous.  Toasted slices of sourdough bread on the side.

We might go see a play tonight if he's not too tired.  He ran into an old
friend who has something to do with this production at Circuit Playhouse.
They are featuring a show called "Goat" (I didn't ask, not sure I want to
know LOL).  This local theatre has a long history of producing some well
known performers - Cybill Shepherd, for one.  Of more recent fame, Kathy
Bates.  Lesser known Andrew Stevens (son of Stella Stevens, who also hails
from here.)

I have a feeling we're going to be celebrating tonight!  Now if we can just
get through tomorrow, when we have to tear it all down... but we have that
down to a science and can get it done in about 1 hour :)

OB: Cats - Persia has seemingly forgiven me since I've been coming home as
much as possible.  I'm getting head butts and she's been asking for kitty
scritches so I guess everything is cool for now.  I love my cat!

Woo hoo! Congratulations to John! Seems to me that as art shows go,
this particular one is more the Cat's Meow than it is a "dog." =o) And
the convenience to your home ain't bad, either.

If it's "*The* Goat," it is the most recent play by Edward Albee.  And
you DON"T want to know-- although you may be surprised at *yourself*
as much as with the play. ;)  Let us know if that's what it is.

That's exactly what it was!  Hiliarious by all accounts.  We arrived a bit
late and were seated on the 2nd row from the front of the stage.  This will
sound funny but it's as if we were royalty or something.  The actors
definitely acknowledged our presense as if we were some sort of important
critics.  We had an up-close and personal view of all the crockery-flinging
on the stage.  Interesting play :)

Oh, I didn't cook.  We wound up going to the Bayou Bar & Grill for dinner.
I definitely have to re-create the scallop and shrimp with a nicely spiced
cheese sauce with rice and spinach... yee ha!

That's wonderful Jill, and well deserved, too!  I love John's work.  Give
him a congratulatory hug from me please?

Hugs,

Congratulations to John.  That award ought take some of the "woof" out of
the "dog of a show"

Terrific news after the dismal start. Hopefully the organizers learned
and next year the first day will be better.

Yeah, so far Maddie is still missing.  This doesn't bode well :(  There are
not only coyotes but also wildcats (moutain lions) out there.  Oh poor
Maddie.  Little schnauzer doggie.
