10 years ago tomorrow, June 17, I adopted Rusty from the local Humane
Society when he was 1 year old.
Now 10 years later, we are still together. He has various health problems
over the years. I rushed him to the emergency TED several
times for urinary blockages. There were times when I didn't think he
will make it to his 10th purrday. Even his TED was frustrated with
the recurrences of urinary crystals. Last year was especially tough
with his diarrhea and impropriate urination.
But he is still kicking and is on yet a different prescription food and
getting pills every 3 day.
He ate all the various prescription food given to him over the years.
Pilling is still a struggle. His last TED exam 2 months ago was fine.
Rusty has slowed down quite a bit and we are going to taking it
1 day at a time. Don't know how many of his 9 lives he has left.

Tomorrow, weather permitting, I am going to shop for a new litter box.
Not very exciting as a present. But his old litter box is falling apart
after 10 years and need to be replaced. Since I don't have a job, it
will do as an anniversary and purrsday present.

Happy purrday/adoption day Rusty (we celebrate purrdays on the date of
adoption around our house) and best wishes for many, many more years to
celebrate.

Happy 10th anniversary, Rusty and Winnie!  I hope Rusty's new food and
medicines will extend his life a good many years, yet, and decrease the need
for TED emergency visits.
