Mommy and Daddy are acting kind of funny so I asked Jake what was going on.
He says he isn't sure, but that sometimes when they act like this, he ends
up going to jail! He said it isn't too scary and its warm and has OK beds
and lots of food. But you hafta live in a little cube with your food and
you water and a box of kitty litter. Nice girls come sometimes and talk to
ya, and there's a big window, but there's no one to sleep on and NO OUT! I
don't wanna go. I like out. Jake says it feels like he's gonna be there
for ever and ever but that Mommy and Daddy do finally come and take us home.
I never been to jail! I've been a tough and wild little girl and lived in
the out all on my own. I've tried to be a nice cat for Mommy and Daddy,
even if I do still get scared sometimes. I hope I can at least talk to Jake
so I won't feel so scared. He says we hafta stay in different cubes.
Purrs OK? I know I won't like this.

(We are out of here in the morning for a road trip. Up to Portland Oregon
for a meeting with online friends from alt.support.arthritis and then a
leisurely drive down the coast. Provided it doesn't rain too much and
provided the coast doesn't earthquake itself off into the Pacific. I hate
boarding Jake and Molly, but I know they are safe there. A local vet has a
special cat boarding section. It is on one side of his clinic, soundproofed
so the cats cant hear dogs and other animals that are in for treatment.
Nice big cages and a big picture window overlooking a nice parking area and
a lake. So they do at least have nice scenery._

Purrs for a very surprisingly good stay at the boarding facility!

If you live in the Sacramento, CA area, this is a nice place to board
your kitties: http://www.patsplaceforcats.com
We have taken our cats there several times and will be going on
vacation next week so they will spend another week there.
Our three share a "suite" which is more than a cage like most of the
other boarding places. The suite is about as big as a closet and has
three levels with a bed and a little cat house on each level. I think
there is also a climbing tree in each suite. There is a window so they
can see outside.
There is also an enclosed outside patio they can go out on, and if they
are social, they get to roam around inside the facility for a couple
hours a day. Fluffy gets to do this, Kitty and Smokey spend most of the
time in their houses in the suite.
All the guests have to be healthy and current on all their shots.
Food is provided, but we bring our own so they can eat what they are
used to.
I'm sure they would rather be home, although Fluffy seems to have a
good time. We hate to take them there and usually end up cutting our
trips short to get back early because we miss our kitties. But this
place is the best we have found.
It costs us $33.00 a day ($11.00 per cat) which is about average for
this area, but they offer so much more.

That looks great, and isn't all that far from us. Very near to where our
daughter lives. Thank you for the information. Saved to favorites for
future reference

aw, we will purr and pray that Molly and Jake are comfortable and happy
boarded at the Vet's. They're usually good places.

Smokey loves to board because he gets to go in a big playroom and hit
on the veterinary assistants.
Sadly, Kumani remembers the vets and their thermometers from her
illness last spring, and doesn't trust them. Then Tyche gets all hissy
to protect her sister. They share a kennel which calms them somewhat.
Nocturne--well--really, the UN ought to incarcerate Nocturne any day
now, so I hope she's used to it...

Lots of purrs for you, Molly. You'll be alright, and your hoomins will
come back for you in the end. Purrs for your trip, too, Jo.
