It rained hard all night and was still raining this morning.  The cats were
in and had their breakfast.
It was a bit chilly so I lit the fire in the kitchen and they both soon
snuggled down upside downy head style next to it.

This afternoon the rain stopped, the sun came out and dried up the rain
really well.  It was quite nice out.
"Hey, you cats, you can go out now."  I said near their ears.  "Don't you
need a wee-wee by now?"
One ear on each cat twitched.  Nothing else moved.  I guess that was a No
then..

Our weather forecast was for a great sunny day -- guess what?  Hard rain
during the night and thunder and rain again today.  It has cleared some
and TuTu has found a small sunny patch on the patio.  Purrs!    MLB

Oh.  Sort of a kitty V sign?  LOL!
I need to learn a lot more about kitty body language then.  My education is
sorely lacking in that department so here's one for starters:   For example,
is there a difference between the greeting "tail straight up" and "tail
straight up but curled over a bit at the end" ?

I think straight up is interested and happy. Curled over is REEEEAALLY
happy.

I'd say the ear was more like a kitty kiss off sign.  Or in the terms used
around here, the cats were telling you to "get bent."  Mine do it whenever I
tell them to make themselves useful and go hunting.

Yep, Sammy's best at giving the ear when we're in the OUT and I yeall
to her that she's reached the limits of acceptable roaming. She give
me the ear, and takes those few extra steps before stopping and
looking back to see if I'm getting up with the bottle to chase her
back towards the apartment. I suppose what she's doing when giving the
ear is actually listening to see how serious I am, and if I'm on the
way.
