Thank you to everyone who has emailed me and posted purrs and
condolences here.  I'm doing better until I read that poem Kittyyttik
posted : )   That was beautiful, thank you.

I did put in a police report last night.  The female officer was so
kind.  There is a teen in a house a few doors down and across the
street that has been seen with a bb gun, though not necessarily on Sat.
It sounds likely that it was him, unfortunately both of his neighbors
were not home that night.  The officer went to talk to him after I
filed my report.  I'm hoping that the parents were home when she went
there, maybe he'd 'fess up if he did it.  I'm hoping the officer will
call me and update me.

Thanks again.

Purrs,
Theresa

If it WAS him that did it, then I hope he 'fesses up too.  (And gets in
horrible trouble with both the law and his parents.) AND I hope he feels
horrendously guilty that he killed an innocent and beloved cat, bringing you
such grief.  I sure hope at very least his parents confiscate that gun and
NEVER let him have another one!

Further purrs of healing to you,

Melissa

>From an ignorant Brit, what's a "BB" gun, is it the same as an air gun,
do you not need a licence for it?  If you do, what age do you need to
be to get one, this sounds horrific, how can people shoot an innocent
animal?

It's a *Ball Bearing* gun, very similar to an airgun. Both should be
banned.

They are banned here within a certain number of metres of a house, which
essentially means within any town or city. That doesn't stop young fools,
though; we had a case some years back in which someone playing with one
accidentally blinded in one eye a young girl in a neighbouring yard - not
even the same yard as the kid with the BB gun!

A few weeks ago a 12 year old boy died after accidently being shot
through the eye with one. This happened about 40 miles from where I
live.

Thank you for reporting viscious crime.  We must speak for those who cannot
speak for themselves.

I do hope that whoever has done that is found and is properly punished. An
innocent life ended because of what that person did.
