OK - so I've tried it.  So I can't think of anything else.  My husband is
worried about me and my kids no longer feel loved.

What is a good score?  I got 47,210 just now but the darn thing shut down on
me.  Gave me 5 minutes and then ended the game.  Is there more than one
level or how does it end?

Thanks,

The idea is to get the lowest score possible to clear the screen.  But take
my advice, stop playing it or you'll get addicted like I did.

It depends. You can aim for the lowest score possible while clearing all
the bubbles or you can aim for the highest possible score. Yowie keeps a
tab of the scores somewhere.

When you're down to two colors only, then it times out after 5 minutes.
The goal is to clear all the bubbles.

Only one level.  Thank Bast!@#@!

The point is to clear all the Bubbles from the screen.  If you do that your
score doubles and you have won.  So you must have got down to two colors.

Game strategy.  There are lots of things.  The two I try very hard to
remember are take your time.  There is no limit until you get down to two
colors.  Then you have five minutes to finish.  And I have to remember that
wiping out a color is more important than popping a lot of bubbles.

I do remember that I can quit and restart whenever I please.

Once you have mastered clearing the screen, you can try one of two things.
To see how high a score you can get.  I think our group record is between
400,000 and 500,000 points.  Or to see how low a score you can get.  I think
that record is in the neighborhood of 18,000.  That means low score for a
clear screen after the final score is doubled.  I find trying for that less
frustrating that getting up to 210,000 or so and wiping out.

It's always good to welcome another addict.   It is possible to limit
yourself to a couple of games a day but you have to be firm with
yourself.   I have known people who have had to have help to conquer the
addiction, others have forgotten to eat.   My lowest score is 19,500.

Thanks Jo - I can see that it will take some practice to try and get a
colour out and not get squished by the rest of the balls.  I don't know how
you all survived this - I was avoiding it for a reason :-)

On the opening Bubbels screen, when you click on the button 'speiregeis'
instead of 'start' a screen comes up that looks like instructions for
playing the game.  Has anyone translated this screen into English?  Is that
what this is?  What language is it?  I've shone it to four European people
and none have recognized it.  Does anyone have English instructions they
have wrote?

"jhill" <jhillxyz@tarleton.edu> had some very interesting things to
say about Re: Bubbels:

I thought the language was Dutch, but that doesn't help me a lot,
since I don't speak or read Dutch. :-)

Yes, it's Dutch. I don't really speak Dutch, but with the help of German
and English, I think I could make out what it says, when I have the
time. I think someone posted a machine translation at some point when
the Bubbels madness first started.

Its in dutch. I seem to recall I ran it through a translator once, and it
came out saying:

The aim of with game is all remove bubbels of the baffle. Press on the
mousebutton to launch the field bubbel in. If 3 or more bubbels to each
other borders, these are solved. As some bubbels 10x as many points
come loose such as normally of the rest, solve these also and verdian
you. The 5 candle ends at the right-hand side give to how well you
play. If you shot has failed (no bubbels have been played), then comes
a red candle end. If there no green candle ends more fires come, to
the upper part a new file with bubbels. Just on that the bubbels too
far down do not come, differently it is game concerning!
Your score doubles if you have played all bubbels of the field!

Even if though its in very bad English, I think you get the idea. It doesn't
tell you anything you haven't already figured out by now.

BTW, if you go to Google and look up the Bubbels threads we had around
November last year, you'll get alot of hints and tips (and know how many of
us caught the bug!)
