Someday this little girl is going to admit she likes me. I now get
acknowledged when she comes into the house, and can skritch around ears and
tail if I've been very good. She will headbutt my foot if she is feeling
generous.
Unless she can pretend I'm sleeping. I mean this morning she had to know I
was awake. If I hadn't been when she got started, I certainly would have
been when she got done.
Jake has spells when he just has to kneed on somebody soft. Usually me, and
especially if I'm wearing something fluffy like a sweater. He will jump up
and start working his claws in and out with a look of pure bliss on his
face. Molly has watched this from a distance and you can see the little
wheels turning behind her eyes. What is he doing and why is he enjoying it
so much.
This morning the litter was clean, the food and water were fresh and the
back door was opened. She came in and jumped up on the bed any way. Starts
walking around on me and poking and prodding like she wants something. I
keep my eyes shut and stay very still. She tries working one foot just a
little. Tries another spot that is even softer. After a few attempts, she
tried it with both front feet. Keeps checking for a really good spot.
Thank God for the nice fluffy blanket over me or I'd be covered with little
bitty pinholes! She must have kept it up for a good five minutes, then came
up near my face and rubbed against me. I talked to her a bit and rubbed her
ears where she can't reach. Then she took off and is back to pretending I
don't exist.

What a wonderful breakthrough! Here's hoping she continues to grow
closer to you!

Miranda does this too when she's kneading. She walks around all the
time, like she is testing every spot. Often the spot is on me, but if
I'm lucky, she is kneading the blankie on the bed. She's not
stand-offish in the least though. When she is done kneading, she will
flop down against me and fall to sleep, purring all the time. It's a bit
awkward now when she is wearing an E-collar, but she still does it.
Never mind that the collar scrapes Meowmie's face when she flops over.
Or maybe it's deliberate, to make me take off the dratted thing.

It's like Pandora. She won't admit that she likes me, although she will
sleep on the bed with me, let me scritch her ears, and do blinky-eyes at
me if she's in a good mood. I even got a little purr the other day -
then she realised that she had let her guard slip and jumped off the
bed!

Your experience is like mine with Boyfriend.

Boyfriend seems most comfortable with me when he thinks I'm asleep on the
settee. I rarely am but if I am still for a while and he thinks I'm
sleeping he will jump up and sleep beside me.
Things must have happened to Molly & BF, and we can't ever know what they
are but this must be a sign that they are starting to trust again.
It's wonderful that Molly kneaded you. A huge step forward.
Ah, she luvs you and daren't say so. Far too risky.
