LOL! Just at bedtime last night, Persia got that wild-eyed look. I
thought, "Uh, oh, here it comes. Bedtime zoomies!" Sure enough. It was
gently raining, the temps were cool (sorry Lori!, we're getting fallout from
Tropical Storm Arlene) so I had the windows open. Persia had to zoom around
for about 15 minutes. This was followed by a knead-my-side purr fest before
she finally flopped over and rested her head against my ribs for me to give
her soft sleepy-time belly rubs :)

How sweet!! I love the crazy eyes. Once when a cousin of mine was
here when Stink decided to go dashing up and down the stairs (he
looooves the stairs). My cousin said "His eyes look they're going to
pop right out!!!" ;)

Not to mention sounding like a thundering herd of elephants, right? How
they manage that I have no idea. It's like one moment they weigh a metric
ton and the next they are doing Carl Sandburg's "little cat feet".

Cats have the most incredible control over their personal mass. ;)

You know, everyone assumes that Sandburg meant that the fog moved
silently. Maybe it was actually going "Thud! Thud! Thud!"

Pearl will race from catpost to catpost scratching madly. She doesn't get
zoomies often but it's hysterical when she does. Sugar just plays with toys
when she gets that way.
