Every time you post pictures of Miranda, I can't help but say to myself
"that is one beautiful kitty".  Of course, I'm partial to greys.

When she sits pretty and tall, I think she looks like one of those
statues of Bast.

She's sooooo cute. I can never figure out how they can stand that magnified
sunheat!

She's a Russian Blue, but she can't be registered.

Mere (or Miranda as she has been renamed) is a Russian Blue who couldn't
be registered, and so the people who had originally wanted to buy her
for a showcat didn't want her after all. Their loss, my gain. :o)

LOL, Victor. Another cultural, or should I say climatological,
difference. If we didn't have double glazing we would freeze to death
during our Finnish winters. ;o) There is double, sometimes triple,
glazing everywhere.

I would have thought, double or triple glazing, would be just as good at
keeping the heat out in warmer climates.

Now that you mention it, I've heard of double-paned windows. I guess it
makes sense from an energy-savings standpoint.

Triple  panes! We only have double panes here in the cold white north.
With the wind chill it can go down to around -40C. We are colder
than Moscow and the 2nd coldest capital in the world behind Mongolia.
Finland must be very cold too to have triple panes.
In the summer it goes way up to 30s C here with the humidex.

On another note, I saw on the news that a Finnish 'shouting group'
is in Catnada preforming. Never seen anything like that before. Is such
group popluar in Finland?

Where in canada do you live?  I'm in Edmonton now, winters are nasty
here, but summer doesn't seem too bad.  I moved out here from new
brunswick, and the summers there were worse... up to forty with the
humidex, but the winters were a bit milder because i always lived in a
city with a river in the middle.  (Fredericton with the St. John River,
and Miramichi with the Miramichi river)  In fact, we lived across the
street from the waterfront for the last year we lived in Miramichi.
Sarah and I spent a lot of time hanging out over there on the grass.
She would play with her friends from the neighborhood who also played
there, and i'd spread out a blanket and read a book.  Winters got down
to -40 only maybe three or four days out of the year.  Here in Edmonton,
you get a cold snap of -40 for up to a couple of weeks at a time...
brrrrrr!!!!  Summers rarely go over 30 degrees though, and its rarely humid.

I am in Ottawa. That's why the comparison with Moscow and the mention
of being the 2nd coldest capital behind Mongolia. We have the Ottawa
river here too with Gatineau  Quebec on the other side of the river.
I have a nice view of the river from where I live.
It freezes over in the winter and people
ice fish there. Then there are sailboats in the summer.
There is also the Rideau river and the Rideau canal which is the longest
outdoor skating ring in the winter. I just saw the magnificent Rideau fall
last weekend. Nothing compared to Nigara Falls of course.
I have never been to NB, or any province east of Quebec. I have only lived
in Ontario.

It's the only group of its kind. I think its success is based on its
uniqueness. It seems to go over very well abroad. 'What are those crazy
Finns up to now?' ;o)

I'll be she can use Meowmie as furniture long after she won't "fit".  And I
predict that Meowmie will be just fine with that.

Your little Miranda is growing by leaps and bounds!  She's such a pretty
little girl.  I'm so glad she and Frank are getting along pretty well.

My George is a Russian Blue.  Not sure if a pure bred--he is quite
remarkable.  Has a wonderful personality.  He headbutts me, lol.

Thanks for sharing her pictures with us.

I hosted a foregin exchange student from where you live.

Thanks,
Jen
