We were stateside for two weeks while I dropped Ms. Willow off with my dad,
visited family, went househunting etc. So...we're back with a bunch of
posts to catch up on...which I probably won't do.
My condolensces to those who have lost their fur covered babies...I think I
recall Nikki going over the RB.
Willow update: She had been throwing up since the baby was born. I
attributed it to the change in her status in the household, then the vet did
some tests and found she had allergies. I agreed with that, but also felt
that there were some cat psycholoical issues going on with her status
change. Anyways...not liking the Hills z/d. She ended up losing some
weight, which did need to happen, but I was still concerned. So we flew
back to the states (she was in cabin), so she could stay with my dad for a
few months while we packed out of England and head stateside. I gave my dad
and his girlfriend the update, my concerns, etc. and they took her to the
vet where they live. They looked at thyroid issues, blood tests came back
negative. They gave up the Hills z/d and are feeding her whatever she wants
and puking has decreased, but not stopped. My dad feels that she is upset
about the baby, so do I, and I'm not sure what steps will be taken next.
They going to do a urinalysis and once we get back stateside, I will take
her to a vet in NoVa.
Purrs are needed...and if anyone has a vet recc in the Springfield, Va
region, I'd be grateful.

I can give some nonstandard recommendations. Flo Mitchell does
house-call-only practice, so you will need to get a regular vet as well
for dental and such.
Springfield has two emergency room/referral centers, full of
specialists. They are both competent, although I think I prefer the
Veterinary Referral Center to Southpaws. Separate from emergency
medicine, the first has at least internal medicine, general surgery,
medical oncology, oncological surgery, cardiology, orthopedics (IIRC),
endocrine radiation therapy. No dentist. Southpaws, IIRC, has an
acupuncture-qualified DVM, and, IIRC again, an opthalmologist.

Thank you! Non standard is cool :)

If you're prepared to travel a bit, (bear in mind I have no concept of
USA distance being a Brit...
My folks use Old Dominion Animal Health Center in MacLean.

They are absolutely superb, and indeed, look after Robbie (and HRFL and
Pandora) admirably.

Looks on the map to be like they are both on the D.C. Beltway and not
terribly far apart.
I just love that Europeans have no concept of distances in the US. When we
travel in the summer, it is often easy to get into places that are booked a
year in advance by those who planned far more than they can do in the
allotted time.

Thank you folks...I knew I could count on you. I will look into the names
and places that are recommended.
