I'm sitting here looking around the living room thinking of something
happy I can yap about for a change *grin*. I don't think ya'll have
heard a happy post out of me for almost a year.
So catch me up...
Sam... How's Pat? Is he still taking care of Diane's cats? How are
they, did he move back home?
Catnipped, how has mommy's little helper helped lately?
Pam, any updates on Rob?
Julie called me the night Dave passed away. Has anyone spoken to Patty?
How are the other two Daves?
Victor: What are you doing now? I read briefly you left Motorola?
I know Sabra and Nikki went to the bridge. Who else?
Is Toadsuck still on??? I'm making that one dammit.
Where's Sherry, I haven't seen her post.
HOBS! You're back!! You were missed and gone for too long.
Did we ever find out what happened to Bonita?
Wtf was the "Heidi Saga"??? Do I even want to know... nevermind...
Friend of ours has a couple older ragdolls. One of them fell off their
six foot cat tree a few months ago. Since we have kittens, or near
kittens and they didn't want their old men cats falling again, taking a
couple months to recoup from that fall... we inherited said cat tree.
It's got four different levels, the ground level, a "house" a flat
platform and then a box at very top. The only one that has adopted it
fully is the boy. The girls sleep there once in a while. It's perfect
for them though, there's one on each level, starting with JB inside his
house.
We have a new addition... thanks to my mother </sarcasm> His name is
Oscar, the red betta who lives on the counter next to the stove in a
purple plastic aquarium. *grin*
I started a new series. Kim Harrison has a cute series about a Witch
who does private investigative stuff with her living vampire partner.
It's similar to Stephanie Plum if Stephanie Plum was able to cast
spells and battle real demons.
*hmm* The boy is conked. *looks around* Be very very quiet, I'm hunting
tootsies. I'm evil and there's a special place for me in the hereafter
for harassing such sweet sleeping kitties. *grin*
Anyone read the new Sneaky Pie? *dances*

Not really, Motorola left us. I'm with Freescale Semiconductor, a
spinoff from Motorola. However, I am in the market for a new job. :)

Pat's still in "their" house. Diane's Dad owns it and let him stay there at
the same rent they were paying, bless his soul. Since Pat's on a job where
he's gone 2-3 weeks at a time now, he adopted out 4 of the 7 (2 of which
were his favorite "buds"). Still has 3 and has a friend come in 3-4 times a
week when he's out of town. Of course Diane's Mom (did I mention they've
"adopted" him?) comes by 2-3 times a week so the kits are checked on
regularly.
OK, now, "catchup". Your turn. You've gained a few feline friends since I
last heard. And how are Jody, Abi, and Mutt?

Hey Sam.. I did a pretty large catchup on a post *umm.. June 1st I
think. It was a thread titled *hi* LOL
We're doing pretty good. Well, literally Abi's in bed crying. I just
sent her to bed (again, for the 5th time)because we get up early in the
morning to see the ortho. A week into summer and she's already got her
days/nights reversed. I'm up too though, how hypocritical is that...
Anyway. Her cast comes off tomorrow. She broke it the last weekend in
April by falling. When she went to catch herself, she suffered a small
greenstick fracture above her wrist.
We're doing pretty good. I'm not sure if I told anybody but right after
the accident Jody and I took off up north in New Brunswick Canada. He
had work to do and we spent the week in the Alogonquin (spelling is WAY
off) inn at St. Andrews and Pasamaquady Bay (where they filmed Pete's
Dragon). We did a whale watching bit and saw a few finbacks.
Going back to Abi... she braved it through first grade with honor roll
the first part of the year, and honor roll once the last half. But
suffered a "D" (one grade above failing for the non-US folk) in math
her last six week grading period. Not sure what happened to that but
she pulled through and came out with fantastic grades all things
considered. We were pleased, her teacher was very pleased. We're
getting a bit of sh.t (pardon but that's all I can call it) because she
missed a few more days than they would have liked her to miss before
Christmas. Her teacher was flustered, we were flustered.. and
thankfully our llongtime family dentist a few years ago decided to run
for School Board. He's currently serving as president on the board
*grin* so during one of my check-ups I asked the nurse if it was ok,
would he mind if I brought up the subject. As far as he was concerned,
if the principal won't sign off on her days like she has the
authorization to do... She's got good grades and she's moving on to
second grade. *snicker* I just may have to officially request the
school board to allow it. But damn.. it's ridiculous. Her days picked
up and she missed exactly two from Jan 4th to May 30th. And they came
with excuses.

Grace!! I'm *SO* glad to hear from you!
The last Sammy story I wrote was "The Great Cockroach Caper" -
http://www.possibleplaces.com/CatNipped/With_Mommy.asp#Fourteen. But I've
been away from the group a lot lately, first looking for a job after my last
boss took horrible advantage of me... and then, after finding the perfect
job, working 12 - 14 hours a day trying to catch up the work of the guy who
took horrible advantage of my new boss.
I guess my next story will be about trying to work from home with a 15-pound
cat laying on my lap sucking her toe (which she's doing at the moment).
No, you probably don't want to hear about the whole Heidi story unless
you're into really bad soap operas. But there's lots and lots of things
going on here (as usual), and I have a lot of catching up to do myself.
I'm glad to hear that Abi is healing nicely. It's no surprise that she had
trouble in school that last half of the year. After what she's been through
it's surprising that she pulled it together to start doing well again and
pass to the next grade! Congratulations on a superb job of parenting under
the most trying conditions imaginable... you are truly a wonderful, strong
and amazing woman!
Also, please don't feel that you have to post only upbeat messages here - we
all come here to seek comfort when life beats us about the head and
shoulders! Don't even feel that you have to post *ANY* upbeat messages.
Just write about what you need to write about and let us support you when
you need it. Sometimes it helps a person to help a friend and puts our own
problems into perspective.
Hugs,
CatNipped
