Now I am home I have resumed care of my two cats, but I cannot do the
poultry yet as I am not allowed to carry the drinkers and food bucket, so
neighbour Stan is still coming round to attend to what hens are left here
for a few more weeks.
When he was here yesterday, he told me that on the first occasion that he
was a bit late feeding KFC & BF, they went round to his house and sat on his
drive outside the front door!
But.. he doesn't live next door, he lives three houses away!  How did they
know where he lived?
Stan said it made him laugh to think that they were bullying him <g>  He has
chickens and dogs, he's never had a cat in his life.  He was pretty
impressed that they came to call for him mob-handed, as it were, and they
continued to do so every time they thought food time had gone by.
I am impressed myself too.  My cats are geniuses.  Is that a word, or should
it be geniuii?  Anyway, they are much cleverer than I ever imagined they
could be, to work out who was feeding them and find his house to hurry him
up is, to me, amazing.

Most animals are a lot cleverer than people give them credit for.

A house is not a home, without a cat.

And most hoomins are fick.

They had him followed!!

Either that, or the Mothership.

They weren't bullying.  It was a gentle kitty-hints. ;)

They are brilliant.  What I wonder is if they discussed it between
them, or went separately.  I wonder how that conversation would have
gone?

Thinking carefully here.  They are both kitties that are allowed outside.
Maybe they wandered into his garden and saw him before, and connected.

Would like to think so!

They went together.  It might have gone like this:
Kitty:  I feel hungry
BF: So do I.
Kitty:  Well, seeing as meowmie isn't here, we need to get Stan.
BF:  Get Stan?  Why?
Kitty:  Because meowmie filled up the porch with kitty wet food and bikkies
before she went away and told Stan how to get them and give them to us.
BF:  So why hasn't Stan come yet to give us it?
Kitty:  Maybe he has only just come from work, let's give him a little more
time.
BF:  But I'm hungry NOW!
Kitty:  BF, you are *such* a weenie, a wimp in English.  You should have had
*my* life.
BF:  Let's go round to Stan's and remind him to feed us.
Kitty:  Hmmm.  Maybe that's a good idea, BF. Let's go round and you miaow
outside (I can't make a noise myself)

It worked.

I wouldn't be surprised if they could tell his route by smell, either.
They have sense we can't even imagine.

You must remember, they managed to find you in the first place.  Not
dummies, either of them.

At risk of again repeating myself....cats are not stupid, no matter what you
may think...they just don't give a ****.
The two behaviors may also be confused in hoomins.

"Geniuses" is a word; "cleverer" is not.

I thought not when I wrote it, but thanks so much for correcting me.
Sometimes, although English is my own language, I run away with it and need
an American to tell me the correct version.

Late P.S.
Cleverer *is* an English word.  I looked it up to be sure.

Yes it is. The rule says that if there's more than three syllables in an
adjective you do not add the -er inflection, but use more in front to
form the comparative, and most for the superlative. Thus: cleverer but
more intelligent. Cleverest but most intelligent. :o) Sorry, couldn't
resist.

Some wise person has said that English grammar is 20% rules and 80%
exceptions to the rules.

Thanks Marina - my family are grammar buffs but I hadn't known that one.
Can't wait until the next family dinner ...

Now that my daughter is a beginning reader, I sure see the 80% exception
part.  Her confidence gets shaken daily as I explain that it was an
excellent try by her but this is a 'special' case!

Yup! It makes it really hard to teach English to say, Spanish speakers,
since Spanish has very little exceptions to grammar/spelling rules.

They observe -- they listen -- they learn --they think!  Sometimes better
than hoomins.  I agree, you have very smart furkids.   MLB

LOL! Cats can be very smart, especially when food is involved. When I
leave the cats in my mother's care on the island, Frank will make sure
she remebers to feed them on time twice a day. My mother stays in her
own house, while the cats and I stay in a shack some distance away.
We'll see how they act this summer, without Nikki but with Miranda.
