I always call in advance to schedule a taxi to pick me up when I'm going on
a trip.  This area isn't urban where you can just flag down a cab.  I also
always use the same cab company.  I called this morning and said I need a
taxi to pick me up tomorrow at 7:30.  I'm sitting here in my jammies when I
see a guy peering in my window.  I got up and went to the front door.  It's
Jamal, the owner of the company (he's always the one who drives me).  I
busted out laughing.  "Jamal, I said TOMORROW morning!"  He laughed and
said, "Well, you sounded anxious!"  Yes, but not THAT anxious!  "No problem,
I'll see you tomorrow morning!"

So far Persia doesn't suspect she's going to be carted off to be boarded
later this afternoon.  I'm giving her lots of attention, hugs, scritches,
etc.  She got fresh catnip in her kitty-sock and got the zoomies, then
settled down to give it a good washing.

I used to have a handle on life...but it broke off.

Purrs that you have a good time and Persia's not too upset.

A house is not a home, without a cat.

Have a good trip, Jill.  I guess I'll be leaving on mine when you get
back from yours.

That is so sweet.  I have the same guy who always drives me to the
airport, too.  He's Egyptian, and he always says "May God bless your
journey" when he lets me out.

Jamal is from Kuwait, if I remember correctly.  He's been living in the U.S.
for 30 years.  He told me once on a ride to the airport he fled the country
and his family because they were trying to force "hate" beliefs down his
throat.  He refused to accept it, was shunned by his family and community
and came to the U.S. to live in freedom and became a citizen.  He was as
appalled about 9/11 as anyone.

Oh, and he always tells me I'm a pretty lady even if it *is* 7:30 AM and I
look like crap.  LOL
