Another "We Met"!

Catnipped - 29 May 2005 06:06 GMT I had *SO* much fun tonight - I haven't laughed that hard in ages - and I talked so much my throat hurts. Victor and Tom are as sweet and nice and caring in person as they are in cyber space (we already knew Bonbon and Michael were from the last time we met).
Bonbon came dressed to fit her true nature - ears, whiskers, tail, and all - and Sammy spent the whole night staring at her in total fascination (Ben said she was freaked because it was the first time she'd seen a cat bigger than she was! ;>). Michael is *SO* witty and so much fun to be around. Tom is brilliant and Victor is a total sweetie! I am so lucky to have friends like them (and you) - I am truly blessed!
I *SO* wish we all of us lived close enough to each other to get together all the time.
Here are some pics from tonight:

Adrian, check your browser settings. Did you accidentally set it to not load images?

Victor M - 30 May 2005 03:29 GMT We had a really good time! It was great meeting everybody and I got to play with Sammy and Jessie for a long time. I met Demi (briefly) and Bandit as well. Bandit is a sweetheart, despite the warnings I got. She let me pet her and didn't try to bite me... :) Demi is beautiful, but she's very shy so she hid while strangers roamed her house. Bandit is full of attittude (cattitude), she has a great personality. Jessie is a petite little lady, but full of spunk and very sweet. Sammy... what can I say about Sammy? We've read the stories! At some point in time, she was on the floor with both paws wrapped around my shoes and she started biting my ankle. Crazy cat! :)
Lori is a great hostess and had enough food out to feed an army! We even left with little party favors, cat-shaped of course. Bonbon was so sweet, she made little leather mice stuffed with catnip for the cats. I can't wait to get home and try them on the kids.
The DH's were very nice as well, they are definitely my kind of people, based on the way they interacted with the cats.
All in all, it was very fun visit! We really need to organize some form of rpca reunion... :)
Victor, posting from Houston.
Catnipped - 30 May 2005 03:49 GMT <snipped sweet compliments>

It was terrific fun and we definitely need to do it again soon - and I second the motion for an rpca reunion (I *SO* wish I could make it to Toad Suck this year!

Victor, if I had my way, I'd just keep you and Tom right here in Houston, only letting go long enough for you guys to go and fetch your kitties.
Lori really IS an outstanding hostess isn't she? She and Ben are so warm and welcoming, as is their beautiful home.
I have to be honest about everything though......
for a minute or two, when we were eating that yummy cheese cake, I was glad I was standing behind the table, because Sammy looked as if she wanted to rumble as she slowly made her way towards me.
I'm pretty sure my tail got poofy.
To the rest of you wonderful r.p.c.a.er's, yes......Sammy really is a joy, but let me just tell you about that little spitfire Jessie......
.....but in another post - I'm on my way to work, and it'll take a while to tell you about Jessie. She's ALL cat, that one.

> I have to be honest about everything though...... > [quoted text clipped - 3 lines] > > I'm pretty sure my tail got poofy. LOL - that was the funniest thing. Sammy kept staring and staring at Bonbon's cat ears (and as Bonbon said, sloooooooowly walked around the table towards Bonbon to check out this strange cat). It was fascinating because I really didn't think cats noticed things like what we wear on our heads. It makes me wonder about how cats, or other animals, recognize members of their own species. I always thought it was mainly through smell, not recognizing a familiar outline.
