The kittens have all had horrendous flu for the last week. Fortunately,
all your purrs worked and they are all on the mend and feeling much
better. :o)

However, the potential adoptive mommy of Flanagan and Lola rang me
tonight. She has decided that she doesn't want kittens that have
suffered from flu, even though they will be 100% fit and healthy when
they go to their new home as she spoke to her vet (who is crap, and I
say that as someone who has dealt with him in the past - he's a
d*ckhead) who told her that kittens who have had flu suffer lots of
illneses in later life. She doesn't want kittens that might have health
problems in the future.

She also doesn't want to wait until next week to get kittens as she'd
like to play with them and help them settle over the 3 day bank holiday
this weekend, instead of waiting until they were healthy. I subsequently
then found out that she lost one of her previous cats to an RTA on the
road because he was shut out at night.

As far as I am concerned, Lola and Flanagan have had a very, very lucky
escape. Anyone who is that self centered doesn't deserve to have these
little guys and it's clearly not the right home for them.

Cardiff CP have advised her that perhaps our kittens and cats aren't
quite right for her, and so could she please go elsewhere if she wants a
cat. I'm sure she'll look after and love any cat she does get, but given
her attitude, there is no way in h*ll she'd ever get her mits on my
kittens now.

So, please could Flan and Lola have purrs that the right home will come
along?

I'm so glad Lola and Flanagan are recovering. Purrs they find their
onetruehome very soon. I'm wondering what the vet looks like with a
duckhead. ;-)

A house is not a home, without a cat.

Obviously, the man is a quack. =o)

Helen, I think Flanagan and Lola are very lucky, too. I hope the right
forever home comes along very soon where they will be loved.

Whew! That was a close call!
More purrs are on the way for forever homes for the kittens.

I agree that her attitide would make me pause about giving her the
kits. I have never heard that bit about flu causing health problems in
later life. As I understand it many, if not most, kits in a shelter
develop some form of upper respiratory infection.

Anyway, sending purrs that the RIGHT home comes along

Francesca came home from the shelter with an upper-respiratory
infection that took three weeks to clear up.  Which prevented her from
being spayed. Then she hauled off and had a kitten almost exactly
thirty days later, but other than that, she's shown no lingering health
problems. =o)

I shudder to think of how colorless my life would be right now if I'd
opted not to adopt Captain and Stanley from the shelter. They both had the
sneezies at the time I first saw them, but their purr-sonalities were so
right that I decided to just adopt them and then have my vet treat the
URI. (We have to bring newly adopted pets to our own vet within 72 hours
of adopting them, anyway -- that's part of the agreement.) Boy, was THAT
ever the right decision!

I'd have second thoughts about that lady AND about her vet, too, if I were
you. Her loss will be someone else's gain. I hope the kitties' OneTrueHome
appears on the horizon soon.

Maybe this was the only way for them to go to the person they were "meant"
for -- to have the "wrong" person decide not to take them in. Who knows?

Donna, Captain, and Stanley (both fully recovered from URIs and as robust
as can be)

They're better off without that sorry excuse for a hoomin. We're purring
that they find the purrfect forever home.
