I had a few pictures left in my camera that I took the other day. Frank
and Nikki were doing the bookends thing, sleeping in the exact same
positions, but when I took the picture, Nikki typically lifted her head
and glared at me for disturbing her sleep. They both even had one paw
stretched out in front of them, like Frank still does in the pics.

The pics didn't turn out so great, and I wouldn't have posted them,
but they're the last ones I ever took of my sweet baby girl, so here
they are.

I think they are great pictures, because they show how loved Nikki was
and how comfortable she lived.
Thank you for sharing.

Thanks for those. I know it's too raw & painful now, but I'm sure
they'll be a comfort in time to come. I took a few pics of dearest
Pericles the night before his final fatal journey to TED and look
forward one day to enjoying them without waterworks.
Please give extra scritches to Frank & little Mere, I'm sure they need
comforting too, Frank in particular.
My boys & I know what you're going through.

(crying again) These are great pictures of both the old friends and I am so
glad you have many more to remember your good times and theirs over the many
years.....Frank will need much comforting as I know he grieves for her even
though cats don't cry.
Please forgive my attempt to send a word of comfort and sympathy in your
language. I better stick to my own and Spanish. where I basically know what
I'm doing....

Don't worry, Hop, I thought it was very sweet and touching. I knew what
you meant, anyway.
You are right about Frank. Every time I've been out and come back home,
he comes to the door and looks around and inspects my bag. I think he's
expecting me to bring back Nikki any day now. It breaks my heart, but at
the same time he has been a wonderful comfort to me. He sees me crying
and he comes and purrs and talks to me, headbutting and kissing me and
purring up a storm. On the whole, he spends much more time with me than
usually. I don't know if it's because he misses Nikki or because he
wants to comfort me, but either way it does me no end of good. He's such
a sweetheart.

Thank you, Marina. Cats are a great comfort in times of stress or
grief....although I haven't a clue how they know or sense our distress.

Somehow they know. When I was initially reading Marina's sad message
about Nikki, I was crying and Vino immediately jumped up on the desk
and started headbutting and purring. It was the sweetest thing.

never mind both of them, automatically qualifies as a good picture. :o)
