And I'm talking about store-bought, not something laying around that the
cat(s) happen to take a liking to (milk-rings, bottle caps, TP LOL). And
does not include the 'interactive' kind where the hoomin (slave) is
controlling it (laser pointers, fuzzy-feather-snake, fuzzy mitten, etc.)

http://www.petmate.com/Catalog.plx?ID=1654

I bought these because Mimi loves milk-rings, Moe loves bottle caps
(especially the metal ones, they make soooo much noise on the hardwood
and/or the tiled floor, and make Mommy & Daddy do the one-foot-hop if placed
in a shoe with the sharp ruffled edge up :D ), and Weebs loves his (now MIA)
purple puffball.

Tossed one out upon bringing them home.  For almost 2 solid hours, Mimi
chased that thing.  She finally tuckered herself out after 'corralling' it
in the bathtub.

Then Ernie - took him 3 hours to subdue it.  He went berserk - actually ran
through the house carrying it!  He brought it onto our enclosed back porch
(da tiled room, in Weeble's words) and chased it back there for an hour,
batting it under and behind things, and always successfully recapturing it
and binging it out to be batted and rolled again.

Moe chases it when tossed, but doesn't really play with it - Mimi & Ernie
don't give her a chance!

Weebs hasn't shown much interest in it - I think he's pining for his purple
puffball.

Ping just wants to chase, either another cat or himself (did I ever mention
he's a clown?).

Lizzie, well, she finds entertainment in watching the birds, skwirls and
bunbuns.  And keeping the other kitties in line with a swat, growl or hiss.

Tennessee & Smokey don't care.  As long as everyone leaves them along to
nap, they're happy.

I got Stinky those-- they are all currently residing under the
refrigerator. ;)

Poor Weebs-- what happened to his purple puffball?

Ernie probably stole it and stashed it somewhere.  Ernie is mean that way.

Actually, I think the Puple Puffball went into the Puffball Protection
Program.  It is now hiding in the house somewhere (not under the fridge -
too low, our fridge vents out the front at the bottom), and is incognito.
Living a life that is fairly cat-free, and enjoying it, too, I assume.

And Ernie is not mean - just a big galoot, and a aweet one at that.  A
lunkhead, if you will.  But he does do a good impression of the
Puss-in-Boots from Shrek II, whenever he wants us to turn on the tub faucet
for him.

Not exactly a toy, but I just bought the girls a CatSpa.

Cali noticed it right away, as I sprinkled 'the Nip' on it. It wasn't long
before she discovered it's true purpose and started rubbing her chops on the
combs. She was in heaven, between the Nip and the self brushing.

Smokey, our intellectually challenged kitty, knew she was missing something,
but she wasn't quite sure what. So she started rolling around on the floor
beside it. She seemed to be enjoying herself, even if she didn't know why.

Oooh, that catspa looks nice!  I got Vino this self scritcher that
mounts on a table leg.  It's like one of the scritch pads on the
catspa.  You can put catnip inside.  Vino loves it, but I bet he would
love the catspa even more!

I bought some of them for Melisande.  She played with them a
bit (long enough to lose them somewhere in the fourth
dimension), but not really much enthusiasm.  (But then, she
doesn't pay much attention to milk rings or bottlecaps, either.)

Nina is the Mia Hamm of plastic Bottle Cap Kitchen Floor Soccer. =o)
But then, she views everything as her potential toy.  The other day, I
cut a bouquet of miniature roses and put it on my coffee table, then
went to start cooking dinner or something. When I went BACK, the vase
was empty, and my little monster had obligingly "killed" all the roses.
=o\ Their bodies were scattered all over the carpet.

Precicely why I keep telling DH not to buy me flowers: they end up on the

Oh yes, those are a fave at out house too.  They also make these little
plastic boomerang-type thingies with little "bulbs" on them that are a
fave as well.

My all-yime fave cat toy is the CatDancer.  If you shut one end in a
drawer, it becomes a hands-free toy.

And I at Petco - I think I've even seen them in the
supermarket pet aisle.

I saw those in Petsmart and thought that Scout and Silly would love
them... one day I'll buy them some for a treat - they LOVE
bottlecaps... Silly's favourite toy for a long time was the plastic
tagclip from John's new belt - it must have been made of incredibly
sturdy plastic because she'd gnaw on it and bat it around and try to
destroy it. I ended up accidentally sweeping it up into the trash one
day (Sorry Silly!)

Their favourite bought toy isn't exactly in its original form. John
bought them a kittenmitten because Silly loves attacking his hand. He
thought she'd like to attack the glove with pompoms, but she wasn't
really interested... however one of the pompoms was loose and it
pulled off when she snagged a claw on the thread. That thing has been
batting around the house for a MONTH! They both love it to bits
because it's too large to disappear under the fridge or couch, but
it's stuffed with batting so it's very light and they can toss it
around to their heart's content and it's fluffy so easy to get a grip
on,  AND it's stuffed with catnip. It's getting quite disgusting now,
but they're still happy with it...  I think I'm going to depompom the
other fingers of the glove and just give them to the cats... it made
for a very expensive pompom ball, but they're getting their moneys
worth :)
