I was enjoying a beer(a Corana) tonight, and I was trying to finish it
off when it slipped out of my hands, (SERIOUSLY)

It slipped out just as Imp was walking under my chair...

OOOPS!!!

He got a bunch of it on his back.  It must have been COLD!!!  He ran
around like a bat out of hell, and I'm chasing him with a towel, trying
to apologize...

He's under my bed now, giving me the Look of Death.

I'm sorry, I really am, but he's not hearing any of it....

But at the same time I can't stop giggling....

The question arises is what happens if he runs away and licks it off.

Not much, other than further disgust at the taste!  Many
dogs actually LIKE beer (at least those who get the chance
to taste it).  Cats are more likely to prefer things like
eggnog.  I remember the Christmas I set a glassful of the
stuff (well-laced with brandy) on my coffee table while I
went to answer the phone.  I came back to a HALF glassful,
and a rather befuddled looking kitten!

hehehhehehe, wish I could have seen the piccies on THAT

How was his behavior after that?  Did you make him walk the white line?

Way back when I had a husband, he had a glass of Jack Daniels whisky and
Coca-cola on the end table.  My little (about 5 lb) puppy, Sampson (RB)
decided to drink half of it.  The poor little guy was a crying drunk.  He
walked around whining and stumbled into the walls.  There was nothing to do
but let it work its way out of his system and I do believe he had one heck
of a hangover once it did.  Poor guy.  He never tried to drink from a glass
on the table ever again.

When I was younger I used to keep rabbits. One Christmas some friends
of mine came round and wanted to see the rabbits so I selected a big
lazy buck called Rodney (another story) and brought him into the living
room to hop around and be admired.

Now as we were all 16+ my mum poured us each a small sherry ("Seeing as
how you're all nearly old enough to drink" she said and we all tried
not to look embarrassed considering how long we'd been in the pub on
Xmas Eve) but none of us liked sherry so we put the glasses down...

Shortly afterwards I realised my glass is empty as are the other four
and Rodney is reeling for the door. I went to get him and he managed to
dodge past me so I am left standing in the hallway thinking "Where did
he go?!" Then I hear a noise...

The thumping of a stud buck in action, coming from the cupboard under
the stairs....

Yes in his befuddled state Rodney had mounted a vacuum cleaner!

The next morning he looked so sorry for himself I slipped an
Alka-Selzer in his water bottle

He's under the bed, I'm trying to reach and scritch him.  I managed to
scritch him a little bit.

I decided to toss him his catnip sock to see if that would appease
him.......

I ended up smacking him in the face.....

Now he's FAR under the bed.

I feel so horrible.....

OH NO! Insult to injury! Purrs that he forgives you soon, and there are
no ill effects of the beer if he licks it off. ISTR that Frank once
licked to mouth of a beer bottle (back in the day when I actually liked
beer. Can't stand the stuff now), but he wouldn't have gotten very much
of it.

LOL! I know that look! That is exactly what I call it, too!
Mischief - 19 May 2005 19:20 GMT
I guess he's forgiven me now, because he jumped up on the bed this
morning wanting scritches.  Whew!!  At least he's not ignoring me or
anything.

I'm just glad he's forgiven me, but i still can't stop giggling at the
thought.  He wasn't soaked with it, so i doubt that any that he
consumed really had any effect.

Poor guy! He was probably embarrassed by his poor timing, but taking it out
on you. =o) Glad he's forgiven you, though.
