I'm looking into this site, and it looks pretty good. I added one
person, my husband, and a job search turned up several hundred hits
... okay, nationwide, but still quite a few here in town.
Anyway, if anyone wants an invite, I'll send you one, and then you'll
have a few contacts already.

I'm in there already... can't remember which e-mail I used, but its probably
the same one I use to post here (just unmunged)
You are more than welcome to link through me... as is anyone else here.

It doesn't really work like that; in order to share networks, you have
to invite someone, and the invited person has to accept. The idea is
that there's a fairly short series of connections between a person you
know and the person you can contact, presumably to prevent spammers
and the like.

I don't understand how it works, but John might be interested... could
you drop him a line at jgory@jagcon.com and let him know about it
please? He doesn't have a lot of time to read the newsgroups
nowadays... Thanks a lot.

Oh, one more thing -- in order for this to work, you want to have a
number of connections. So everyone who's creating a LinkedIn acct
should probably "invite" everyone here who's posted their address,
thereby getting a bunch of first-order connections. You can invite
someone even if they're already in the network -- in fact, it's the
only way to get first-order connections.
