...I've just been incredibly busy.
Not only has my boss refused to give me a raise (EVER!!!) but he's had the
nerve to add tons of new duties to my job (I am now his "personal"
assistant, doing things like taking care of paying his traffic tickets,
making his kids' dentist and doctor appointments, arranging travel for him
and his latest "twinkie" to Jamaica, etc.) I'm *STILL* doing the internet
and intranet applications, and doing vendor negotiations, and doing admin
work for the other execs. Needless to say I'm spending what little free
time I have looking for another job. And I'm also trying to ride my new
bike for an hour every day to try and improve my health*.
*My health hasn't been great lately - I passed out in the bathroom Saturday
and hit my face on the back of the toilet - I now have a huge black eye.
So, I haven't had very much time to read and post lately, but I *AM* still
reading as much as I can and sending purrs to those who need them.
Hugs,

Purrs from all eight of the fuzzy masters for you to find a good paying job,
one that you like, and that you can leave your current job and the @$$hole
of a boss with as little notice as possible to screw him as much as
possible.

Purrs that you find a wonderful, well-paying job soon and you can tell that
boss what you think of him. Or not. At least I hope you can get out of
there soon.

Here are some purrs and prayers for your job situation and health.
When you are riding your bike, be alert for any light-headedness that
suggests you might be about to faint again. Doing so in traffic might
be deadly. A woman was killed in a traffic accident here in Nashville
this weekend. She was just learning to ride a bicycle, and was riding
on one of the busiest roads in the city. She panicked when a large
truck passed her, lost her balance, and fell under the back wheels of
the truck. The truck driver was not charged, as he had left enough
clearance had she not lost control of the bike.

Here's a thought.... arrange his flight THERE, but "whoops! I guess I forgot
to book the return tickies, boss! Oh! You DID want the reservations at the
luxury hotel instead of that cheapo hotel near the airport? Gosh, what a
pity... the resort is all booked up!" Of course you should wait until you
have your new job all set up before making said reservations. <EG> (Yes, I
am an agent of Satan, but my duties are mostly ceremonial.....)

I hope you find a GREAT new job, and soon, Catnipped. This sounds like the
pits. I agree that when you DO find alternate employment, you should give
VERY short notice, and cause your boss the maximum amount of inconvenience
possible without being too obvious. Leave at least one important project
undone when you go, so he can rue the day he took you for granted. (Make it
something that will make him look BAD.)

Ugh. Your boss is an a.shole. You need to get out of that job! I'm
sure that will do as much for your health as any other appraoch.

Purrs for you to find an excellent new job ASAP and quit, preferably with
about ten minutes' notice to your boss before you walk out the door.
Start taking any and all personal items home from the office gradually, so
there won't be much left for you to carry out on the day you thumb your
nose at this jerk and stroll through the exit for the final time.
I'm liking that one-way ticket to Jamaica thing suggested in another post.
LMHO!!!!
I think if I was in a similar position I'd also be doing things like
creating the BARE MINIMUM amount of documentation necessary for anything I
did. (Mind you, this is coming from a person whose normal procedure was to
write PLENTY of comments in any program I introduced major changes to or
wrote from scratch, so anyone would be able to follow it without
trouble.)
I look forward to the day when I see the post from you declaring that
you've moved on to a better job, and shaken the dust from this place off
your feet.

I think it's outrageous that your boss is expecting YOU to do his
personal/family business. Appointments for his children and tickets for
his personal vacation (as opposed to business travel) are HIS business
to be done on HIS time.
Purrs for a new job soon. This turkey can book his OWN damn vacations.

I think it is not politically correct to do these personal things for
him. I think I would say such duties were not in my job description.

Did you go to Workman's Comp for your black eye? I hope there was no
other damage. Eyes are delicate. Purrs,
