Catnipped - 17 May 2005 01:19 GMT I asked Victor and he kindly volunteered to use his PayPal account to collect donations for flowers for Tweed (Christina Werbsell) to send to her hospital room.
There are several international florists that I've found online that we could use (I just Googled "International Flowers") if you all would like to choose one or choose an arrangement.
Tweed is going into the hospital today for surgery to remove what the doctors believe is a malignant growth from her abdomen. For others who would like to send a card, here is her hospital address:
Christina Websell Ward 31 Leicester General Hospital Gwendolen Road LEICESTER LE5 4PW United Kingdom
Victor, could you provide information for sending payments to your PayPal account?
Thanks all.
Hugs,
CatNipped

I already have her hospital address, and planned on sending a card forthwith. I believe, late last night, she posted the address that she will be staying at while recuperating from surgery, after release from hospital.

Oh! And I get to keep my job, at least for another year! The company told the contract winners that they wanted me to stay, so I'm staying. It's sortof nice to be needed. Exhausting, but nice.

I found a nice florist in Leicester with an online presence. I'm thnking either the Haselbury Bucket-tied: http://www.eden4flowers.co.uk/Scripts/prodView.asp?idproduct=287 or the Rainbow basket: http://www.eden4flowers.co.uk/Scripts/prodView.asp?idproduct=315 Delivery costs 4 pounds, not sure yet if they'll add tax. So we're talking something between 29 BP and 39 BP (53 and 71 US dollars). I'll buy what I can with the money I've received through the end of the day today. :) I also have a donor that is going to send me a check by regular mail, that is also ok if you don't feel comfortable with ebay. Just let me know how much to put you down for.

======================================== Contributions might contiue coming in, I didn't know about this til today. Suz&Spicey
Victor Martinez - 19 May 2005 12:34 GMT > Contributions might contiue coming in, I didn't know about this til > today. Ok, we have a saying in Mexico: "cuentas claras, amistades largas", which roughly translates as "clear finances yield long friendships". The flower company billed my credit card exactly $62 USD. Total donations received total $58.65 in Paypal and $15 via regular mail (not here yet, but it should arrive soon). How should I handle the extra money? One option would be to not cash the mailed-in check, but that might not sit well with the donor. Another option would be to take out of Paypal only as much as I need to cover the total for the flowers (minus my contribution) and leave the balance there for the next time we need to make a donation or something. I can take screenshots of the totals and put them online so that we don't forget how much was leftover from rpca money in case it gets mixed with personal transactions. A third option would be to start an rpca paypal account and transfer the leftover money there. Several people could have access to it and we could all use it to send donations to various causes. What would you guys like me to do?

Debbie Wilson - 19 May 2005 12:52 GMT > Ok, we have a saying in Mexico: "cuentas claras, amistades largas", > which roughly translates as "clear finances yield long friendships". Sensible saying!
Personally I am happy to leave the money in your account, with a record of how much there is (maybe you can upload the screenshot to Catslaves or something?) so it's there for the next time we all want to donate to something.

If you're worried about forgetting, just post here how much is in there with a specific subject line and it will be archived in Google. Be sure to deduct any interest your credit card company may charge you.
