I just got invited to interview with another company for a system
admin/programmer position!

I've been home since Saturday. Was supposed to go back on the road last
night, but I'm fighting off a touch of the flu so didn't do so. I sent a
resume to a company in Irvine Sunday night. Monday morning they asked me
to complete a skills evaluation, and this morning they asked me to come
in for a resume on Monday. Woo-hoo!

Normally I'd hesitate to talk to a company in Irvine, since it would
involve a commute of 1.5 to 2 hours each way. But these folks are just 4
miles (2 miles if you take some shortcuts) from the Tustin Metrolink
station. This means I should be able to take the train to Orange County
then either bicycle or bus to the office. I'll drive to the interview,
of course, but if things go well I would be quite willing to make that
commute.
