We have a race this weekend in St. Louis, MO. and we have been working
on the race cars, the yard, the laundry, etc each evening trying to get
ready. We leave early morning (around 2 am edt) to make a 10 hour trip.
Hopefully arriving around 1 p.m. (cdt). We gain one hour which gives us
12 hours (2 hours for sleep, cool!). This time tomorrow we shall be
in St. Louis, the cars will be unloaded and the garage set up and we'll
get a good night's sleep tomorrow night. But, at the the moment, I am so
very tired. Last night around 1 am I just started crying. DH wanted to
know what he'd done wrong. He didn't understand when I said "I'm just
tired and my mind wants to cry".
I have been reading, at the very least, requests for purrs and sending
them as needed. Norm I was so very sorry to hear about Beastie and Tara
, I lit a candle for Princess. Dan, Nancy, Jill, Victor, Helen, Jeanne,
and anyone else searching for jobs right now, you have our purrs. Pam,
I'm so very glad that Mike and Rob weren't seriously injured and Jill,
I'll be sending purrs for your Dad. Tweed, you continue to be in our
purrs...
Group purrs to everyone, I'm so very sorry that I haven't been able to
send purrs to all of you in the ng, you are very special, caring people.
I do have to add to the pronunciation of location thread, however.
Nearby is a street spelled Houston Mill. There is even a county -
Houston County. Most people would pronounce this Hew-ston but in
Georgia is is pronounced House-ton. Then again, we've had entire
threads on the way people speak in Southern United States so maybe I
shouldn't go there. (vbg).
Hugs to everyone, I'll catch up on Monday when we get back to town.

ps from Barnabus: Mr. O.J. and Boss'n Smokey - I'd like to join the
crew that climbs the rigging and hangs ropes. Meowny once posted a
picture of me walking the window ledge watching birds. To get there I
had to jump from the cat tree to the curtain rod to the window ledge
(15' in the air). Then I walked the 1 1/2" window ledge, jumped back to
the curtain rod, rearranged the curtain scarf to my liking then jumped
back to the cat tree. I'd really like to climb the masts and walk in
the air above the ship. Thank you for your consideration. Barnabus

Thank you Julie. Life has gone on and Quinns ajustment has been
terrific - taken Beast's place in the chair and become even more of a
lapcat. You probably missed my post about last weekend, only a 2hour
drive to Binghamton in my 68 Olds but a 10hr vintage rally Saturday and
another few on Sunday have me super-hyped to get other cars ready to
go. My first non-SCCA event in a couple of decades at least. "Great
Race"? No, can't gear up for weeks of this.

Actually, I did read your post about the taking the Olds out and went to
look at it. I was very impressed with how clean it looked. A very nice
car. I have of course seen your other cars in years past. What are you
going to get ready first?

Sounds like your just the type we be lookin' for, B-bus my lad. There
are literally dozens of ropes to learn on a Tall Ship like The Mouser.
Helpin' with the rigging and making sure it's all shipshape be the
best way to "learn the ropes".
When we set sail you'll be a proud member of the sail crew who climbs
the rope ladders and then lets the sails out or gathers them in and
lashes them down. It's a job you can be right proud of and you'll get
full pay and a daily 'nip ration (for consumption when you're
off-duty). You'll also get a full share of any treasure we find on
the island.
No, wait! I take that back. There be no map and no treasure. It's
just a silly rumor. Forget I said anything.
Purrs and Nose Touches,
Smokey
